4.5 earthquake in Junin, Peru

The central Peru region of Junin experienced an earthquake at 10: 08 Monday morning, reports the Geophysical Institute of Peru.

Registering a 4.5 on the Richter scale, the epicenter was located 48 kilometers west of Junin city. The depth measured to be 112 kilometers.

The Waytapallana mountain range, located in the south central area of the region, holds a great fault, making the area susceptible to earthquakes.

No injuries of damages have yet been reported.
The central Peru region experiences a slight rumble Monday morning.
