Ask Sadie: What to do in Urubamba?

_Hello Sadie,_

_My name is Chrissie and I am planning a trip with my husband in May to Peru. I would like to know what is the best way to spend time in Urubamba while we are in that town for a few days. We enjoy sightseeing but also like the wilderness and thrill seeking._

_Thank you_

Dear Chrissie,

Thank you for your patience. I am glad to hear that you will be coming to Peru. Urubamba is a lovely place and a great place for some adventure. Lonely Planet has some suggestions on where to eat, what to see and what to do.

The first thing on their list of things to do is visit the restaurant El Huacatay

Tripadvisor shows that this restaurant has 4 ½ stars and is ranked number two of restaurants in Urubamba. The second thing that Lonely Planet suggests is going to visit the Salinas. The Salinas are valley that is compiled of salt beds, the view is spectacular and a definite must see.

Before arriving to the Salinas I would suggest you visit Moray, here you can enjoy the unique circular terraces. After visiting Moray as you are a wilderness seeker, you can trek 500m to the Salinas, if you like of course.

Dutch- Peruvian owned Perol Chico is a ranch where you can visit and even ride Peruvian Paso horses. They even have rides to the Sacred Valley, and other amazing and adventurous rides.

Like I said, I am glad to hear that you are coming to visit Peru. I that you have a great trip.

I hope this helps, and good luck!
