Summer 2017: Activities for kids

Just because school’s out doesn’t mean you can’t continue to learn during this hot season. What’ll be on the agenda for your little ones this summer?

Kids can be a handful, especially when they are on summer vacation. Does “I’m bored out of my mind” or “There’s nothing to do,” sound familiar? Well fear not parents, because below is a list of activities for your children this Summer 2017.

Nido The Kid’s World
This nido or daycare with two locations in San Borja and Surco will be offering a series or art and game activities for your young ones. Kids from 1-2 years old can participate in: mini chef, amazing experiments, swimming, storytelling, puppet shows, art and more. Kids from 2-6 years old will also be able to participate in: mini chef, amazing experiments, swimming, marinara classes, computer skills, mini theater and much more. Activities in Miraflores
The Municipality of Miraflores has been attentive when it comes to educating children during the summer season. This year they have compiled a list of cultural and artistic activities that include: archaeology workshops in the Huaca Pucllana, ballet, northern marinara, and Arabic dance classes among others. As for sports, they have also included soccer, basketball, karate, fencing and much more.

La Revolucií³n workshops
This group has four food related themed workshops that go until March 2017 for children. Age groups include 2-4 years (with a little help from a parent) and 5-10 years. Each class offered has a distinctive theme, allowing children to learn how to cook, harvest and cultivate fruits and vegetables, exploring tubers and other root vegetables, and of course, one of the most valuable skills, how to recycle.

Geology Workshop
This summer activity definitely rocks. With the workshop taking place at the Andres Del Castillo Mineral Museum, children will be given the chance to learn about different minerals, their uses and mining history in Peru.

123 Language
If you want your children to learn another language and also have fun doing it, than this summer program might be just right. 123 Language will be offering English, French, German and Chinese Mandarin courses. Each course also integrates sports, experiments, water games and other unique ways for your children to learn a new language. For more information check out their Facebook page.


This art workshop located in Barranco is for young children (ages 2-6 years) and is designed to stimulate creativity and help develop their artistic side. Each session is different and will include theatrical play, body language, oral expression and the art of clowning.
