We’ve done it! We’re finally settled in Lima: kids are in a good school, learning Spanish like little peruanitas/peruanitos, the maid finally learned how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and Kraft macaroni and cheese without bright orange clumps, and now, …uh-oh!! The little one has this awful cough that you’ve never heard before….

Has that happened to you yet?

Well, before the wheezing starts in, we’ve already asked parents like you, in need of a recommendation, for their favorite pediatrician!

Here are the results, which by the way, we’ve spoken with and ensured are good quality pediatricians that you will be excited to encounter… por si acaso!

The all time favorites, recommended by sooooo many, are:

We spoke with Dr. Ferreyros, and he was humbled by our data and grateful to his clients for recommending him. He in fact, unsuspectingly, came directly to the phone without hesitation, to speak with an unknown Mom when I called “undercover”. He is light on medication, and uses it on an as needed basis. He provided useful information over the phone for my children, without charge, before an appointment was made! He accepts insurance on a reimbursement plan. His first consultation fee is S/.250. He has been serving the community for decades. FYI, his colleague, Peter Spangenberg, was also highly recommended. Looks like you’ll find what you’re looking for at Pediatras Asociados! 2. ENRIQUE SANCHEZ GRINAN

Before even meeting Dr. Sanchez, one feels the playful nature in his office – large and small race cars with googly eyes, stuffed animals hanging from the ceiling, space to run if you wanted to, you get the picture – a real kid’s room!! In our consultation with him, or my daughter’s consultation, he was as playful with her as his room represents! He got her smiling and answering him within half-a-minute! He spent time to talk about our medical inquiries, he demonstrated experience and knowledge in his field, he was understanding and flexible with concerns about insurance and his fees, providing reasonable options, he shows confidence with his diagnoses, and gentleness with the kids, and he does not medicate unnecessarily, even recommends avoiding medication when necessary. My squeamish kids were immediately drawn to him, and I had a feeling of trust soon after our conversation. We saw him with other patients, and even the youngest toddler was happy to see him and crawled excitingly to the Dr’s room! Moms, … it doesn’t get better than this! FYI, Clinica El Golf also had another well recommended pediatrician: Dr. Percy Summers, who also has an office in Chacarilla. His contact info is listed on the summarized chart for your convenience.

I must respectfully disagree with the "top five listing".
I once spent several months in Lima Peru trying to adopt a child. This proved to be the most difficult process I have ever been through in my 48 years on this earth. Had it not been for the help I received from DR. PERCY SUMMERS, I would have never been able to accomplish it. 
I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH COMPASSION, LOVE AND CARE FROM A PHYSICIAN. From the first moment we met, he made me feel totally at ease. He cared for my daughter as if she was his own. He never mentioned money, and when I finally paid him he refused to accept any "extra money" I tried to offer.  He treated me, my wife, and child as family. I could NEVER repay him for what he did.....
There cannot be a "top five list" without PERCY SUMMERS!! I have MANY more details of the experience and would be glad to share them. The man changed my life and saved the life of one baby girl. This "baby girl" is now a teenager. She is a straight A student and one of the most special young women you could ever meet. Everyone she comes in contact with is touched by her loving spirit. There is no way to tell what she may accomplish, but her potential is unlimited.
NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT PERCY SUMMERS!
Time to "vote again". I can happily send you a few hundred votes for Dr. Summers.....
