In REBUILDING THE SOUTH ONE YEAR LATER: "THE THREE JACKS & AMIGOS" GIVES BENEFIT CONCERT IN MIAMI FOR PERU QUAKE VICTIMS

After reading this article, I was filled by warmth because it is wonderful to see how this devastating event has not been forgotten.

As one of thousand of Peruvians, I too have family in Chincha that suffered tremendous losses due to the earthquake. I am thankful that there is still help on the way. However, this reminds me of how little the Peruvian government has done to restore the damaged areas, even though, it has been over a year.

Nevertheless, I am greatful of all the support these amazing performers are doing and I am looking forward to their arrival.

Thanks for posting this article.

Hi Larry,

I am amazed by your capacity to see through any situation and find the positive side of it. I think that is a remarkable quality which, as a Peruvian, I must admit is hard to find.

I just wanted to say that you are right about drawing wrong conclusions. Sometimes we rarely notice what's in front of our eyes.

Take care, and I hope you keep posting more of your experiences.

Bye.

Larry,
I am really sorry about your bad experience in Lima, because these things always happen here, but it is good to know that you found people who help you how to manage this situation, so, it was not bad at all, you could see the positive aspects of peruvian people when someone is in a trouble. Larry,
I am really sorry that you had had to live these kinds of experience, but as you said ,it happens everywhere even in the best places in the world.
I admired from you how you had taken this incident .... most of people who had these experiences ,actually talk bad about everything that it is related to the incident .
Well everything has a good and bad side (your bad side was worse \"Frown\"), it helped you to see how peruvian people is when it tries to help someone in trouble and even if you had passed a bad experience in our country (because I am peruvian) , you had realized that we are not like people in other part of the world , we are helpful and like to response in a positive way to these kind of things , i want to thank you how you reacted to that incident in my country and focused in the positives things\"Laughing\"THANKS. The reviews says it all, I was amazed by that play.
I remember coming back from my trip to Arequipa on Thursday and i read in the newspaper (Peru 21) about this play, the only thing the newspaper said was: "A conversation between Kurt Cobain and Frank Sinatra". And that was it. I couldn't imagine how the play was gonna be, but i simply HAD TO go and watch it. The worst of all was that the last show was on Sunday, the only day I was able to go, and so I went with a friend and the only regret I had at the end of the play was the fact that I wasn't gonna be able to watch it again. I hope in a future this play would be shown again in the Municipal Library of San Isidro. I could watch it ten times more. [REPLY]

Larry,
It is very admirable that you see all the positive aspect in such an unconfortable esperience.
It is of common knowledge that not in all Lima distrits you will receive that kind of help ... that is something that must be changed.
Let say that is not a Lima classic, it is a world classic. [REPLY]

Having recently retired and finally disposing of my time to do whatever
is pleasant and meaningful for me as well as for others; i have contemplated in chasing the sun every year by spending the summer months in each location, my question is if you know of someone who

has or is doing this and their thoughts.

Most of my family are still in Peru.

Thanks
