I have americans friends that are married to peruvians and they go every year to Peru just to eat peruvian food, they say they never thought the food was so delicious there. [REPLY]
There are many all american young men bored to death with their lifes in US, some of them look very unhappy and angry and some violent, they are lucky to have everything, a good place to live, plenty of food, nice car, very nice clothes, anything they want.
I guess they feel empty inside , that might be. [REPLY]
If you would like I can get you a Peruvian recipe for their great tamales?! We know one or two that are from Peru that sell them here around Tulsa Ok. You may contact me directly if you wish at: tobbywaun1@yahoo.com [REPLY]
There is another tradition: Get three potatoes and peal one half way, another one totally and the tird one must be left intact. Place them under your bed and the next morning, before getting up, reach for one of them! If you get the unpealed one you will have wealth all year round; the half pealed one will give you a so so economic situation but if you get the totally pealed one... you will not have any money!
This is not a good tradition to follow but it is done! [REPLY]
Dear Larry:
I am the opposite of you; a Peruvian living in the States... married for 33 years, with two daughters and a granddaughter. I envy you for living in my beautiful country but I hope to come back to retire there.
Your story is beautiful and yes I agree with you, you gave your father another thirteen great years.
Marry Chritsmas and the best for the New Year!

a lovely story.
It also makes you aware that lots of people don't developpe a hobby or interest because of; I think, television / video watching.
Specially now a days kids start to watch tv and don't have to entertain
them selfs, your push a button and sitdown.
Luckely your late father liked dogs and "it" became his interest.
Also a fantastic experience for you.
Best wishes for 2009, coming all the way from Johannesburg,
bernard [REPLY]
