Prepare yourself to eat everything you possibly can, drink the best brands and entertain yourself with the activities El Pueblo offers you.
El Pueblo Resort and Convention Center now offers their visitors a unique experience close to the capital of Peru. This traditional hotel, located only 45 minutes away from Lima, has family packages which include lodging, food, drinks, entertainment and much more. “The best advantage is that Peruvians have access to “everything included” without having to leave the country. This is very original, because it this type of offer is generally only offered by beach hotels and not by those in the sierra,” explains Juan Martín Aguirre, General Manager of El Pueblo.
Dawn
Starting at 7 am, Molino de Santa Clara Cafeteria serves breakfast until 10:30am. If the mountains are covered by clouds and fog, there is nothing better than a hot drink. However, if the day starts out sunny, you should drink a refreshing fruit juice that the buffet offers. And, as we know, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, you should motivate yourself to try the variety of artisan breads, which are made right in the hotel.
Water
The first rays of sun will begin to warm the ground, and this is the prefect moment to enjoy a refreshing swim. El Pueblo has three pools of various depths that will help you satisfy this desire. One of the pools has various slides that have different heights and daring curves. And if the adults want to feel like they are in the Caribbean, there is a bar inside one of the pools that is called Las Cascadas. A few meters away from the pool you will find a barbeque area where you can enjoy snacks, that is, if you are hungry before lunchtime. The second pool has the bar Mohena and a few meters away is the bar Marino. The three bars are open from 10 in the morning to 6 in the afternoon, and they offer everything from soda pop to whisky.
Good for everyone
According to the representatives of El Pueblo, they are looking to offer their guests a unique experience. “Basing itself on the same tourist activity mentality that international chains have, this resort offers entertainment areas and planned activities. The combination of family activities with entertainment is our goal” stated Javier González, director of Experiences, Events and Entertainment at the hotel. So, the littlest ones can entertain themselves with videogames, a tour of the farm or by making ice cream in one of the mini-chef classes. For those a bit older, there are games of darts and dance classes. And when all of the family is together, they can participate in competitions of men versus women, or in the crowing of the “Miss” of the night.
Food!
If gluttony is a sin, this is the best place to commit it. So, take advantage of it and break your diet. Eat and drink as much as you want, as the best part is that no one limits you. Starting and noon and lasting until 3:30pm, you will have three areas where you can eat lunch. If you are hungry for great grill food, you should go to the Tobogones zone. If you want fish and seafood, you should go to the Cebiche Bar, and if international food, or Peruvian food is on your list, there is not a better place to eat it than the buffet in the restaurant called Polvos Azules.
If you missed lunch hour because you were having too much fun, don’t worry. El Molino de Santa Clara reopens at 3:30pm and serves elegant pastas until 11pm.
Although there are many options for dinner, we recommend that you dine at the gourmet restaurant Pilitricas. As there is limited seating (35 people), you will have to reserve a table either for 7 or 9pm.
Under the light of the moon, enjoy a drink in the bar La Cava, where you can try the Peruvian national drink in the bar’s exclusive pisco marinades of cinnamon, cloves, coca and lime. But you will also have the opportunity to try drinks with rum, vodka and whisky.
And to finish off the night, those who love to dance can let their best moves show in the discoteca. And if you prefer to sing, don’t hesitate to visit the karaoke bar. Both are open from 10pm to 2am.
More information
The hotel El Pueblo Resort and Convention Center was built during the 1970s, and was one of the first five star hotels in our country. Its infrastructure occupies an area of 90,000 meters squared, and it is a beautiful recreation of the traditional towns of the sierra.
From its opening, the bedrooms were houses of one and two floors, with balconies and slate roofs. Also, the wide streets, give the hotel an authentic Andean atmosphere. In 1983 the peña El Plebeyo was opened in honor of Felipe Pinglo Alva, where every Sunday at lunch time the best criollo food was served. And in the 90s, El Pueblo had 175 double rooms, 500 beds, and five bungalows with pools. Also, they have 10 event rooms, with capacity for 600 people, where national and international conferences often take place. Currently El Pueblo has more than 50 event rooms with a capacity for 3,000 people. And now they are the first hotel in Peru that offers packages under the “everything included” system.
El Pueblo Resort and Convention Center occupies 16 hectares and has more than 230 rooms distributed in bungalows, suites and standard rooms. Access to the bungalows located in Zona A (on the hill), is via cable car. Seven of the bungalows share a pool, while three offer private ones. Prices vary from Friday to Sunday, depending on the location and the type of room (from $135 to $213 per person per night). From Monday to Thursday, all of the areas cost $120 per person per night. In both cases, each additional person pays $97.
