Latin American Film Festival

From August 2nd to the 11th, Lima will become the capital of the cinema with the Latin American Film Festival, organized by the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP).

The Festival includes more than one hundred movies, most of them shown for the first time in our country; three official categories of competition, documentary and fiction; four tributes for celebrities, two posthumous tributes and two countries as guests.

Inkafest – Outdoor Sports Film Festival

Huaraz, at the foot of the ragged Cordillera Blanca, is the Andean equivalent to Chamonix in the French Alps or the Talkeetna in Alaska. Now the Inka Fest film festival organizers have decided to turn their town into a new Banff. The gathering includes a proper mountain film festival, lectures, outdoor filming workshops, gear fair and a promotional campaign for outdoor sports in the region, ranging from high-altitude and big-wall climbing, to paragliding, kayaking and mountain-biking. Andrea Miranda – Photography Exhibition

The Lucía de la Puente Art Gallery presents a photo exhibition by the late Andrea Miranda, considered one of Lima’s most talented young photographers. Miranda, who studied in the Escuela Superior de Arte Corriente Alterna, was well known for her panoramic views of public spaces showing popular culture. These images were achieved by joining various shots of a certain scene and piecing them together.

Film Night: Las Doce Sillas

Upon learning that his mother-in-law had hidden a fortune in jewels inside one of twelve identical parlor chairs taken from her villa by revolutionary authorities, a young Cuban man sets out on a frantic treasure hunt in this classic comedy from Strawberry and Chocolate director, Tomás Gutiérrez Alea.

40 Lotes - Exhibition


Celebrating its 40th anniversary, The Engraving Specialty of the Art Faculty of the PUCP is presenting this exhibition, where the word "lote" (lot) conceptualizes an space of construction and change. The exhibition shows the advances that this specialty has gone through in the past forty years, from a perspective that includes and integrates other areas of art and sciences.

Seymi Togo - Exhibition

Seymi Togo (Tokyo, 1958) studied at the Fine Arts School of Joshibijutsu, in Japan. From 1978 until last year she organized nine exhibitions, in Japan and Bolivia.

In this exhibition she presets work influenced by the oriental and occidental techniques, and Peruvian themes. Her paintings fuse an original identity with modern realism.

Velvet Water - Exhibition

Mexican artist Victor Rodríguez presents his latest exhibition called Velvet Water, which includes his most recent work and a series of lithographs. The subjects for his pieces vary from glamorous to mundane and frequently make cinema and art history references.

Industrial Design Exhibition

With the intention of making known the inclusion and the impact that industrial design has had on daily life, students and graduates specialized in Industrial Design of the Art School of the PUCP (Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru), exhibit a suggestive group of works that range from rolling furniture to vehicles.

Karina´s Magic Circus

Sculptures – Exhibition

Federico Morón Campodónico, a sculptor who has presented individual and collective exhibitions in Peru and other countries, shows us his latest works of art at the Alianza Francesa in Miraflores. Morón sculpts spontaneously, creating varied shapes that reach their final form as he works, considering that his pieces are the reflection of “what can only be expressed through sculpture.” These sculptures are made of marble or bronze, with tones that vary from black to white.

Mito y color - Exhibition

"Mito y color" is a new interpretation of our past. From the talent to the things that matter to the artist, who tries to answer many questions about our origins and our destiny. For Consuelo Amat y León pain is a way of expression that has her voice represented in the color, which explodes in rich and diverse chromatic harmonies.

La trama y la urdimbre – Exhibition

This is the sixth exhibition of popular art presented by Ricardo Palma University and the ICPNA

The beauty, harmony and perfect design of traditional Peruvian textiles can be seen in this exhibition which presents a series of amazing pieces

This sample tries to draw attention to the quality and condition of traditional textiles made mostly in the middle of the past century with cotton, llama wool and vegetable fibers.

El Momento del Lobo - Exhibition

The Cultural Center of the Escuela Nacional Superior Autónoma de Bellas Artes del Perú (ENSABAP) presents a bipersonal exhibition addressing the topic of  the environment. Artists Alejandro Romaní and Juan Carlos Mejía attempt to call our attention to the problems our ecosystem is suffering, where man is the central cause of the situation.

Mincetur - Peruvian craftwork

Runcie Tanaka - Exhibition

Ceramist and visual artist Carlos Runcie Tanaka presents his exhibition “SOLO NUBES / I’ve looked at clouds from both sides now” at the Centro Cultural Inca Garcilaso of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Here, he includes pieces he has created in the last 12 years, as well as some of his more recent artwork, for which he has used diverse materials and techniques such as ceramic, glass, photography and video.

The artist associates his view of the landscape with his father and grandfather’s visions by incorporating their photography into this project, allowing his family’s history to become involved in this journey through time and memory.

Carlos Runcie Tanaka studied Philosophy at the PUCP and later went on to study the art of pottery making in Brazil, Italy and Japan. He has participated in various collective exhibitions including biennial exhibitions in Havana, Venice, Cuenca, Caracas and Sao Paulo.

11th National "Plata del Perú" – Exhibition

The 24 silver pieces that won out of the 203 that participated in the 11th National “Plata del Perú” contest will be exhibited at Interbank. These pieces of art come from all over Peru and are divided into four categories: sculpture, filigree, jewelry and silverwork.

Mi nombre es Rachel Corrie - Theater

Rachel Corrie was a North American university student, who dreamed
of being a poet and writer.
She felt the necessity to understand the world she lived in and to
know the truth behind the global structures that determine our world's truth.

During the play, the audience lives the growth process that took Rachel from a privileged middle-class in the US to the Gaza Strip in the
Middle East, where she worked as a volunteer supporting people with
enthusiastic humanitarian work.
Each word in the play is a copy of the same young person, published in
newspapers, e-mails, recordings and letters kept by her parents during the time she lived abroad.

Playhouse - exhibition

In this exhibition, the artists use recycled objects taken from the garbage to recreate an inhabitable place; a home, attempting to maintain preconceived notions of what a house is while trying to revalidate the discarded object’s own beauty.

"Cubo" Walking Gallery - Collective exhibition

Starting July 12th, the walking gallery “Cubo” will present a promotional video of the artistic diffusion project, Flujo, in which artists Carmen Reátegui, Magali Seminario, Valeria Ghezzi, Alice Wagner and Mariana Tschudi participate. These artists, interviewed in the video by Rocío Rodrigo, use their art to demonstrate their views on artistic inclusion, which Flujo is based upon. In addition to the video, some of their most representative artwork, as well as that of photographer Lorena Noblecilla, will also be presented.

Andy Warhol - Exhibition

The art work, documents and films of Andy Warhol, the famous American artist who converted common consumer products and pop icons into art, are exposed in Lima.

Ricardo Wiesse's Acuarelas - Exhibition

Ricardo Wiesse, a well-known Peruvian artist, presents his latest exhibition in the “Sala de Los Jardines”. Wiesse studied at the Catolica University Art School majoring in painting and engraving, and later went on to study at the Atelier 17 of Paris and the Slade School of Fine Arts in London. In this exhibition he will present a selection of his watercolors.
