With this piece, Sanchez-Concha seeks to challenge the geometric characteristics which traditionally define the creation of a visual piece.

“El Vuelo del Condor” (“The Flight of the Condor”) is a 90 minute cirque style show featuring original music, over 40 international artists including acrobats, dancers, a comedian, and an Inca inspired theme. The show is directed by Cesar Aedo, former student of Marcel Marceau.
Through her photography, artist Luz Negib begins a process of reproducing original pieces to later merge them with other images that remind us of her past work. The art pieces, result of her exploration, are the representation of her intuition and her contact with nature and the human figure.

Internationally recognized artist Carrizales presents an exhibition where he displays engravings inspired by the force of the Nazca culture. His works are full of movement and color, where fantastic creatures vibrate over a background full of life, with a mixture full of eroticism.
Peruvian artist Ivan Huerto, who has exhibited his art in Peru as well as in Europe, presents his latest work at the Alianza Francesa’s L’Imaginaire Art Gallery. His exhibition consists of large pieces centered on various national holidays, such as “criollo” music day, Easter, Mother’s day and Saint Rose of Lima’s day. Using strong colors he tries to cause an impact, showing these cultural manifestations through a diabolic and ironic representation.
The Museo de la Nación will display the exhibition “La Imagen del Pueblo Mapuche en América” by one of the most recognized Chilean engravers, Santos Chávez. This exhibition includes works where the artist, who passed away in 2001, demonstrates his mapuche roots, as well as his mastery of engraving techniques. The Centro Cultural Inca Garcilaso presents an exhibition about the most well-known Peruvian mask dance, Puno’s “Diablada,” which has taken place in the Peruvian and Bolivian highlands since pre-hispanic times as part of the “Candelaria” festivity. The exhibition will display masks by Arturo Jiménez Borja, Ugarte Chamorro and Miguel Rubio. In addition, some dance costumes will be shown, as well as a video about the “Candelaria” festivity in Puno.

Lima’s Lyrical Season 2007 opens this month with a production of “Carmen” by Bizet, performed in the leading roles by María Luján Mirabelli, mezzosoprano from the Teatro Colón of Buenos Aires, who will share the role of Carmen with Ana Caridad Acosta of Mexico; by Spanish tenor Enrique Ferrer, and Peruvian tenor Andrés Veramendi, who recently sang the same role in Madrid; and by other leading Mexican and Argentine artists and 17 leading Peruvian singers.
