Latin Dance Class

If your new year's resolution is to improve your dancing skills then this event is just for you. Renowned dancer Pepe Lara will teach a one hour dance class covering everything from salsa, samba and merengue to Arabic dance at the Lima Clubhouse. If you're interested and want to get an idea of what the lesson will be like, click here.

Refugio - Exhibition

Ishmael Randall Weeks will present his exhibition "Refugio" at the Galeria Lucia de la Puente. The display will feature drawings, objects and scaled models. For this exhibition, Randall will intend to demonstrate the artistic process of drawing in a studio. Randall has studied at Bard College in New York and Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine, and has also received honorable mentions, such as at the IX Bienal of Cuenca, Ecuador.

I feel so extraordinary - Exhibition

After more than 10 years, Peruvian artist Aldo Chaparro, who is based in Mexico, brings us a new exhibition: I FEEL SO EXTRAORDINARY. The display will include sculpture, installations and photography, all of which are inspired by music. Chaparro believes music affects us on a deeper level: personally, sentimentally and sexually.

Bendita Seas - Exhibition

"Bendita Seas" is an individual exhibition by Argentine artist Carlos Masoch. The presentation features a series of works which describe "exemplary lives" and "savage life". He dedicates the works to those who "have beaten adversity" and to the others who only "feed their stomachs and wallets". Masoch has had his art featured in France, Spain, and New York.

Barin Bababo – Shipibo Art Exhibition

10 artists from the workshop Barin Bababo, of the shipibo community San Francisco de Yarinacocha (Pucallpa) will present their artwork in the Museo de la Nación. This work represents their interpretation of the world view of their people.

Un Techo Para Mi País - Photo Exhibition

Un Techo Para Mi País is an organization led by young people all over South America which aims to build homes for underprivileged families in these countries. Peru's branch of the organization has created a photo exhibition showing the work they have been doing in Pisco after the earthquake on August 15th. Don't miss this opportunity to learn about this excellent initiative.

II International Mime Festival

Lamps - Exhibition

Moloco presents a collection of lamps created by 22 recognized artists. The objective is to raise funds for ANIA, an association that encourages children to participate in preserving the environment.

Rediseñando el Diseño - Exhibition

The exhibition "Rediseñando el Diseño" presents work from the graphic design students of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. The show features a great variety of projects and pieces made in 2006, which illustrate the possibilities of graphic design: as mediums of communication, editorial and corporation communication, multimedia, audiovisuals and graphic production of textiles and objects.

Piazza and Stoll – Photography Exhibition

As part of the MIRAFOTO Festival, María Cecilia Piazza and Hans Stoll present their exhibitions “Historias Íntimas” and “Carretera al Sur”. The people that appear in Piazza’s work, as described by writer Alonso Cueto, are “Lonely but not isolated, dark but not blurry, melancholy but not desolate.” Stoll’s series, on the other hand, is defined by Laura Benetti as “a dialogue that initiates the silent future between the observer and the traveler”.

Hilos del pasado - Exhibition

The Museo de Arqueología, Antropología e Historia del Perú will exhibit "Hilos del pasado: El aporte francés al legado Paracas", (Threads of the past: The French port to the Paracas legacy). The exhibition is sponsored by the French-Peruvian Foundation and the French Embassy, who recovered the pieces. "Hilos del pasado" has a total of 28 pieces, which six of 40 textiles have been recovered by archaeologist Carmen Thays and her team from the MNAAHP
