Martina y el Ratoncito Pérez – Theater for Children

This play is an adaptation of the story “Martina the cockroach” by Sara Joffré. Martina finds a coin while she is sweeping and decides to buy a ribbon for her hair and find a boyfriend. Many suitors come to her, and she must pick the best.

Aventuras… Con Hi5 y sus amigos – Children’s Theater

This play tells the story of five friends who call themselves “Hi5” who are on an important mission: to teach the importance of reading by showing children to use their imagination so that they are able to create their own stories, characters and worlds. However, Tica and Squib will try to stop them from achieving this. The story is accompanied by music and kids will learn about the five senses, animals, new games, etc.

Kimbafá - Concert

On January 26 and 27, Kimbafá will perform at the Centro Cultural of the Sur Plaza of Asia. Kimbafá is an unconventional percussion group that mixes rhythm, percussion and Afro-Peruvian dance, transforming these elements into language.

Paintings and Sculptures - Exhibition

The Gallery Yvonne Sanguineti Arte & Diseño will feature a new exhibition featuring a mix of painting and sculpture pieces. The paintings are done in collage-form, using mixed techniques and or utilizing oils, while the sculptures are in large and medium scale, using diverse materials such as ceramic, marble and steel. Artists include Eduardo Tokechi, Rhony Alhalel, Ricardo Huyese, Enrique Polanco, Nader Barhumi, Michiko Aoky and many more.

MALI Contemporary: acquisitions and donations 2007 - Exhibition

This exhibition will gather the contemporary pieces that entered MALI's collection throughout 2007. This is thanks to the hard work put forth by the Committee of Acquisitions of Contemporary Art (CAAC) of MALI, which is only a year old and works as part of the program MALI Contemporary. The exhibition includes Peruvian artists such as Jorge Eduardo Eielson and Emilio Rodríguez Larraín, as well as pieces from modern artists around the world.

Morococha - Exhibition

Sebastián Rodríguez (Huancayo, 1896 - Morococha, 1968) photograped the mining town of Morococha (Junin). He was one of the most well-known figures of Peruvian photography during the XX century. His exhibition lets us learn the history of a community marked by an era of crucial tension between traditions and a forceful move into modernization.

La piel del rio - Exhibition

More than a dozen artists who utilize the amazon as a subject or use materials from that region, will present their works at the exhibition "La piel de un rio" (The skin of the river). They’re representing the amazon in contemporary art. César Calvo de Araujo, Rember Yahuarcani, Lewis Sakiray, Harry Chávez, Miguel Andrade, Chiara Macchiavello and Adrián Portugal are just few of the artists taking part.

Tribute to Lima by José Coronado - Exhibition

As part of the celebrations for Lima's 473rd Anniversary, the Office of Culture of the Metropolitan District of Lima presents the exhibition "Homenaje a Lima" by artist José Coronado Pizarro. With the use of paintings and watercolors, Coronado remembers the city's glorious urban past, while also paying tribute to its current indigenous influences.

Don Carlos and Dub Vision – Concert

Famous reggae star Don Carlos is performing once again in Lima, and like previous times this promises to be a remarkable show.  This artist proclaims unity with his motto "One people, one aim, one love, one heart" and the good vibe he gives off is enough for those attending to have a fantastic time.

Desconcierto de Diferentes Perspectivas - Exhibition

Javier Mayta Panca, last year's ICPNA's National Watercolor Show winner, presents his first individual exhibition. His pieces feature a range of urban, rural and marine landscapes surrounded by a light fog which awards magic and mystique to every one of his paintings, as well as providing a sense of cohesion for the whole show. Mayta is perfectly capable of infusing his own intimate personality into his work and prolonging the use of one color without slipping into monotony.

The Three Little Pigs - Children’s Theater

The Teatro Larco will be the venue for this classic children’s tale in which three pigs build three houses (one of straw, one of sticks and one of bricks) in attempts to hide from the big, bad wolf who wants to gobble them up.

XVII Concurso Nacional de Artistas Jóvenes – Art Exhibition

The ICPNA Arequipa presents an art show featuring the winners of the XVII national young artists' contest. Initiatives such as this competition are truly important as they provide an opportunity for new artists to make themselves known. The organizing committee has been very pleased to find 345 pieces were entered in the competition by no less than 250 artists from various parts of the country. 23 pieces will be shown, amongst which will be the three winners and the three honorary mentions. This picture shows the winning piece entitled "Peace is our profession".

Cupido Tambien Se Enamora - Theater

Luna is a charming, fun girl who experiences a tragedy during the most important time of her life. She stops caring about the world, closing her heart. However, guardians from above send her a messenger, Cupid, who teaches her to believe in love once again. A heartwarming and emotional story.

Perú Vas - Theater on a bus

Take a bus ride like none you've been on before. Perú Vas is a new mobile theater production that takes you through the streets of Lima while you enjoy a fun show. At each stop, a new character will get on, each representing a different stereotype, creating a sarcastic view of the city we live in.

Radiochu – Exhibition

Young Peruvian artist, Valentino Sibadon, presents his second art exhibit in Lima. Once again he offers a display of interesting pieces featuring his main character Radiochu, a cross between the logo from the music band Radiohead and the yellow Pokemon, Pikachu. Far from displaying traditional art, this show promises to be quite an experience.

Sincromías - Exhibition

"Sincromías" is an individual exhibition by Yolanda Fae. The display presents abstract pieces in which Fae tries to find her artistic identity through color and the style in which she paints in the moment. Fae was born in Zurich, Switzerland, but has lived in Mexico and Lima, as well. She has studied at schools around the world and is currently based in Miami.

Tres Arenas – Exhibition

The artist Ricardo Wiesse bases his most recent paintings and collages on Pachacamac, one of Peru's most important pre-Hispanic sanctuaries.  The landscapes along the coast and the desert mystique inspired Wiesse into creating a collection of abstract paintings, collages and images of the main pilgrimage center in the Peruvian coast.  The artist aims to help promote pro-nature movements with his art by establishing a cultural community that has respect for its past, its environment, its history and its natural resources such as oxygen and water.  With this collection Wiesse strengthens his link with his past and nature around him.

Ludicus - Theater

Ludicus is a show with speechless clowns, like the ones from classic theater. The Tropa del Eclipse group, which performs in this show, is a Peruvian group founded in Lima in 1997, and from its beginning has continuously investigated techniques for mixing theater and circus.

El Libro de la Selva - Theater for Children

Mowgli is a boy who is raised by wolves in the jungle, until one day, he must leave the pack. His friends Bagueera, a black panther, and Baloo, a bear, begin a journey to take him back to the human village, even though he doesn't want to leave. But they must watch out, the fierce tiger Shere Khan is after them. This theatrical performance brings Rudyard Kipling's classic "The Jungle Book" to life for the enjoyment of children and adults alike.

Emerging Processes - Exhibition

Seven Peruvian architects working in the UK present an exhibition showing new tendencies in art and architecture based on recent technological tools. The spectator will be able to go through the “life of a project” in a dynamic and interactive way, seeing the final results in cities like London, Seville and Dubai. The participating architects will be: Alberto Domínguez, Federico Dunkelberg, Sophie Le Bienvenu, Mariana Leguía, Maia Lemlij, Lucía Pflucker and Vladimir Kalinoswki, all of whom studied in Peru.

Refugio - Exhibition

Ishmael Randall Weeks will present his exhibition "Refugio" at the Galeria Lucia de la Puente. The display will feature drawings, objects and scaled models. For this exhibition, Randall will intend to demonstrate the artistic process of drawing in a studio. Randall has studied at Bard College in New York and Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine, and has also received honorable mentions, such as at the IX Bienal of Cuenca, Ecuador.

I feel so extraordinary - Exhibition

After more than 10 years, Peruvian artist Aldo Chaparro, who is based in Mexico, brings us a new exhibition: I FEEL SO EXTRAORDINARY. The display will include sculpture, installations and photography, all of which are inspired by music. Chaparro believes music affects us on a deeper level: personally, sentimentally and sexually.

Bendita Seas - Exhibition

"Bendita Seas" is an individual exhibition by Argentine artist Carlos Masoch. The presentation features a series of works which describe "exemplary lives" and "savage life". He dedicates the works to those who "have beaten adversity" and to the others who only "feed their stomachs and wallets". Masoch has had his art featured in France, Spain, and New York.

Lamps - Exhibition

La Celebracion - Theater

Respected family patriarch and businessman Ricardo Helge is celebrating his 60th birthday with a dinner. Gathered together are his loyal wife Elsa, his daughter Helene, his sons Michael and Christian, and other guests. Without any warning, Christian makes a speech to the family in which he reveals dark news, causing a shock in the family. The explosive effect of his telling causes an environment that no one in the family will ever forget.

Ubu Rey - Theater

The Alianza Francesa presents Ubu Rey (Ubu the King), an 1896 play by French poet and playwright Alfred Jarry which caused a scandal in its time. Ubu the King tells the story of Papa Ubu who, persuaded by his wife, decides to plot in a conspiracy and become king of Poland. Papa Ubu and his evil wife are two grotesque characters, greedy for power and everything that comes with it. They are determined to reign and are willing to destroy everything that comes in their way.

La Fiesta del Chivo - Theater

The Asociación Peruano-Británica presents a theater adaptation of Mario Vargas Llosa’s novel “La Fiesta del Chivo” led by renowned Colombian director Jorge Alí Triana. Previously performed in New York and Colombia, this production takes us back to the Dominican Republic of the “Trujillo Era” (1930 - 1961) and narrates one of the most atrocious events of Dominican history, the dictatorship of Rafael Leonidas Trujillo, culminating in his death. The play also tells the story of Urania who, after 3 years away, reunites with her father, Agustin Cabral, president of the senate. Upon her return, Urania finds that her father is no loner the powerful person she knew, but has become a useless old man, allowing her to reveal to her family her most sordid memories. This production intertwines stories of ambition, power, conspiracy, pain, betrayal and death. Participating artists include Alberto Isola, Norma Martínez, Leonardo Torres Descalzi, Jorge Chiarella and Carlos Victoria.
