Canto a Chabuca - Concert

In honor of  International Women’s Day and the 25th anniversary of Chabuca Granda’s death, the Municipality of Surco presents “Songs for Chabuca.” Chabuca left an unforgettable legacy with her songs, including “La Flor de la Canela.” Gian Marco Zignago will close the show, and Cecilia Bracamonte will also sing, as well as Adriana Mezzadri, Desiré Mandrile, Pierina Less, Adali Montero, Lucy Aviles, Willy Terry and Nicole Pillman.

XVIII Grape, Wine and Canoeing Festival

Lunahuaná presents the traditional “Festival de la Vendimia”, a wonderful touristic event that can interest both locals and foreigners. This year, all kinds of social, cultural, tourist and recreational activities will take place among the beautiful landscape. On Saturday 8th, the main celebration day, visitors can enjoy grape picking, and then music and dancing as thanks for the harvest, while the grape juice begins to be extracted. To help promote Lunahuaná, PromPerú and AHORA PERU will present a video showing everything that this amazing valley has to offer: its beauty, micro-climate and the many adventure sports that make it the perfect place to spend a weekend or holiday.

The Wizard of Oz - Theater

The magical story of Dorothy, her dog Toto, and their inseparable friends the scarecrow, the tin man and the lion, return to the stage at the ICPNA auditorium. Dorothy  wants to discover what is on the other side of the rainbow, when all of a sudden, a great tornado hits her city and she and her dog are transported into the magical world of Oz.

Taller Lluvia de Sol - Exhibition

The “Lluvia de Sol” (Rain of Sunlight) workshop was created in 1990 because of a common interest. Now this group of artists from Arequipa will present xylographies (wood engravings) on various topics. Participating artists will include: Ysabel Clot, José Lara, José Luis Pantigoso, Rubén Mamani and Luis Solorio.

Nostalgias Imperiales – Exhibition

In this exhibition, Diego Gianella’s intention is to look at engraving from an unconventional perspective, relating it to binding, installations, literature and alternative printing techniques. The exhibition will be centered around the presentation of the artistic book “Nostalgias Imperiales”, which won the first book contest organized by the literature magazine Dedo Critico, the Centro Cultural de España and the NGO Runa.

Exposicion de XXXII Salon de Grabado - Exhibition

ICPNA has been holding the “Salón Nacional de Grabado” contest since 1966, one of the most important engraving competitions in our country. This year’s winners and participants will exhibit their artwork in ICPNA’s Juan Pardo Heeren Gallery. The first prize went unanimously to 23-year-old Luis Antonio Torres Villar of Huancayo, who won with two xylographies where he pays homage to the people of his community.

Peru Ida Nomas - Photo Exhibition

Clement Gaillard’s latest exhibition, “Perú Ida Nomás” shows two years of a French photographer’s life discovering Peruvian society. As a photographer and an independent journalist, Gaillard shows a humorous and critical view of Peruvian society, looking at everything from the environment, immigration, and religion, to male chauvinism.

Taller 72 Muestra Antológica - Exhibition

ICPNA's 2nd Engraving Biennial begins with a retrospective exhibition that takes a look at “Taller 72” from 1972 to 2007. Aside from the many courses offered by this workshop, and its efforts to promote engraving around the country, its importance lies in the many artists it has prepared, many of whom have gone on to participate in international exhibitions. The history of this workshop is deeply tied with the five artists responsible for its success: Eulalia Orsero, Jorge Ara, Alberto Agapito, Cristina Dueñas and Gabriela De Bernardi, and their dedication to this extremely sophisticated art form.

Hansel and Gretel - Theater for Children

Hansel and Gretel are the children of a poor lumberjack. Afraid of hunger, their stepmother convinces their father to take them into the woods and abandon them. Hearing her plan, the chidren collect little white pebbles and leave a path to guide them home. Once they return, their stepmother sends them back into the woods, but this time, they only have breadcrumbs to leave behind. The forest animals eat these and Hansel and Gretel lose their way. How will they get back home?

Bossa n' Stones - Concert

Aladdin was raised among tramps in Agrabah, he is a daring guy that pulls occasional stunts to survive, and sometimes he steals to buy his food. Despite that, he has a generous heart and is willing to put himself in danger to save his beloved Jasmine. His life will take a big turn when he finds a genie in a lamp.

Ciudad Tricéfala - Exhibition

The Alianza Francesa presents artist Vladimir Ramos’ latest exhibition, “Ciudad Tricéfala.” Ramos looks at urban life: the way we live, a city’s conflicts, thoughts and hopes. He transforms urban chaos into a mix of memories, colors, images and vibrations.

Lajos D’Ebneth - Exhibition

The British-Peruvian Cultural Center presents a two-part exhibition of Lajos d’Ébneth’s work, a Dutch-Hungarian artist who migrated to Peru in 1949. This versatile artist’s work shows complete mastery of various techniques. Much of his work is still preserved in Chaclacayo, where he designed his house under Bauhaus principles, while the rest of his pieces are in museums around the world.

Part I: 48 pieces including sculptures, collages, drawings, lithograph. (February 21st – March 16th)
Part II: 39 paintings that approach some of the XXth century’s most important artistic advances (March 27th – April 16th)

La Orestiada - Theater

The Universidad Católica’s Theater school, TUC, and the Greek Embassy present the theatrical production of Aeschylus’ “The Oresteia” , the only remaining trilogy of its time. However, this version places the classic piece in contemporary times, demonstrating the timelessness of this story. The production is directed by Jorge Guerra, who has already produced The Oresteia in Pittsburg and Miami and is internationally respected for his interpretation of ancient Greek texts.

El Retrato de Dorian Gray – Theater

La Plaza ISIL presents a theater production based on Oscar Wilde’s only novel “The Picture of Dorian Gray,” and directed by Roberto Angeles. Dorian Gray is the perfect example of beauty and youth. His portrait is the masterpiece of a painter who has searched for perfection his entire life. When Dorian sees his portrait, he understands that youth and beauty are the most wonderful things that exist, and swears to keep them at all costs. However, this way of life will have consequences for Dorian, for everyone who surrounds him, and even for the portrait itself.

Blip! - Exhibition

Blip! is all about robotics and recycling made art. Within art and technology there is a new tendency towards the use of simple gadgets or even those that have been forgotten in order to transform them into new devices related to social and artistic statements. These devices are also employed as a way to criticize the social role they possess within the consumer culture that has taken over our society.

Album Familiar – Exhibition

Eduardo Llanos presents a reflections on lost paradises, family albums, inheritence and characters enveloped in sadness and melancholy, the joy of partying and the will to live. A fantastic reinvention that invites us to take a look at family through works of art created with acrilic painting and watercolor, mixed with collage and textile.

Laberinto de Monstruos - Theater

The Labyrinth of Monsters tells a fictional story of violence, set during the times of terrorism in Peru. This tragedy links the past and present, showing the main character Leo and his friends in childhood, adolescence and adult life. While the child goes through the circumstances that lead to his crime, the adult faces his dark past. Written by Peruvian playwright Cesar de María, directed by Mikhail Page.

Homenaje a Hilario Mendivil – Art Exhibition

The National Cultural Institute presents an exhibit in honor of Hilario Mendivil, a symbol of traditional Andean imagery, 30 years after his death. This artist's work is held as one of the country's most representative private collections. Hilario is considered to be one of the most important artists of his city, Cuzco, as his work encapsulates the religious spirit and richness found in the temples of this city. His ability to merge the Andean and Spanish tendencies is remarkable and as long as one of his descendants lives his art will continue evolving with each generation.

Ludicus - Theater

Ludicus is a show with speechless clowns, like the ones from classic theater. The Tropa del Eclipse group, which performs in this show, is a Peruvian group founded in Lima in 1997, and from its beginning has continuously investigated techniques for mixing theater and circus.

El Libro de la Selva - Theater for Children

Mowgli is a boy who is raised by wolves in the jungle, until one day, he must leave the pack. His friends Bagueera, a black panther, and Baloo, a bear, begin a journey to take him back to the human village, even though he doesn't want to leave. But they must watch out, the fierce tiger Shere Khan is after them. This theatrical performance brings Rudyard Kipling's classic "The Jungle Book" to life for the enjoyment of children and adults alike.
