Halloween Nic Fanciulli Global Underground Tour

This is another one of the many events that Asia offers this Halloween. It is an all inclusive electronic party with Dj Nic Fanciulli in his Global Uderground Tour. XXI European Film Festival

The members of the European Union, the European Commission Delegation and the Film Library of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru present the XXI European Film Festival. This year, there will be exhibitions of films from Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Finland, Sweden, the UK and Switzerland as a guest country. Madrid Mirada, 14 Artistas Latinoamericanos- Photography Exhibition

This exhibition gathers the work of 14 Latin American photographers that take over the city of Madrid as the source of their creativity. "Madrid Mirada" (A look at Madrid) is composed of photographs that show politic themes, that interact with photographic objects and pictures that play with their own shadows and stereotyped images. It will also count with video and sound reproductions, and much more.

II Concurso Escolar de Historieta - Contest

The Centro de la Imagen invites all students coursing their penultimate or their last year in school (cuarto y quinto de media) to participate in the II Comics Contest for Scholars, the goal of which is to raise awareness about the importance of comics as an essential means of communication. The jury will composed by prominent artists, like the popular Huanchaco, Cherman, Nicolás Yeroví and Natalia Iguiñiz. Prizes include scholarships, Faber Castell products, an Ipod Shuffle, a Panasonic camera and much more! Your comics may be delivered at Centro de la Imagen until November 10th. Bases for the contest may be acquired at your respective schools.

Desarmando- Impro Show

Caricias- Theater

Caricias (Caress) involves a round of characters that seek desperately for love and affection, because they just don't know how to do it. They're clumsy or have no attitude or knowledge to find it. They get tangled in a series of relationships that end up in bad breakups, instead of getting what they want: to ask for a caress or to caress the other.

Zarzuela at Teatro Segura - Operetta Season

To celebrate its centenary anniversary, Teatro Segura will host an operetta season , where two traditional zarzuelas will be performed: Las Bravias and La Chavala. Participating artists include Spanish baritone Javier Balán, Spanish sopranos Milagros Martín and Guadalupe Sánchez, Spanish tenor Carlos Crooke, Peruvian artists of international prestige, the Lima Symphony Orchestra and the Spanish ballet Alma Gitana (Gipsy Soul). Also, as part of this gala event, another show will be presented: Los Recuerdos Musicales del Segura (Segura's Musical Memories), a performance that gathers the most representative Spanish and Peruvian songs ever played in the history of Teatro Segura. Sogs include El Caballo de Paso (The Peruvian Paso Horse), Hasta La Guitarra Llora (Even The Guitar Cries) and Soy Peruana (I am Peruvian) by composer Rosa Mercedes Ayarza.

Día de la Canción Criolla at Hacienda Mamacona

Hacienda Mamacona opens its doors once more and invites you to an exclusive performance of Peruvian folklore and a very enjoyable Peruvian lunch to celebrate the Día de la Canción Criolla. 15th Anniversary of the Discovery of the City of Caral

Celebrating 15 years of research in the ancient city of Caral, the group "Campamento Caral" has organized this cultural activities. You will be able to experience a 2 day camp, where you'll participate on the ritual ceremony in honor of the "Pachamama" (mother Earth). The ceremony used to be performed by the Tahuiro priest during the night, around a central fire at the bottom of the Gozne mountain, considered to be one of the gods of the city. The next morning, you will be able to visit the archeological projects, join the cultural celebrations, try some of the local food, and much more!

Inventario - Art Exhibition

A very interesting artistic proposal, Inventario (Inventory) is an painting exhibition that gathers the most significant work of five artists from Trujillo: Oscar Alarcón, Juan Carlos Alvarado, Juan Chávez, Manolo Rodríguez and Silvia and Jean Paul Zelada. The artists have found their inspiration in the simple, ordinary objects and places of everyday life, and have chosen to represent them as though they were distantly contemplating them.

María Julia y el Árbol Gallinero- Children's Theater

The play tells the story of Maria Julia and her pet: a black hen who wants to be a mother. Maria Julia won't stop until she fulfills her pets wishes, getting into a number of adventures trying to find her a rooster. On the play, Maria Julia has a sister who helps her through rough times. It's a great play for kids between the ages of 3-12, that surprises and amuses them, teaching them about the fights between siblings and the search for creative solutions, the importance of tolerance, respect and liberty.

Mesas de Centro en Acero - Exhibition

In 2008, Corporación Aceros Arequipa S.A. (Arequipa Steel Corporation) organized the 1er Concurso Regional de Carpintería Metálica (1st Regional Contest of Metallic Carpentry) in which contestants were faced with the challenge of creating a very imaginative center table. The idea was to encourage the growth of metallic carpentry in furniture design and promote regional development. The best designs will be exhibited for a week as very interesting artistically functional proposals.

El Hombre LLuvia, El Cielo y la Tierra- Exhibition

Escultura de Árbol y Arte Itinerante- Recycled Materials Sculpture

As part of the festival Amo Amazonía, the artist Francisco Burga will intervene at the Parque de la Amistad with a 5-meter wide sculpture made of recycled metal and plastic bottles as well as messages of kids from Lima and the communities of Puerto Firmeza, ANIA, Colegio André Malraux, Mukmu and Puckllay in the rainforest.

Adolecentes- Photography Exhibition

As part of the 7th International Photography Festival "Mirafoto", the artist Ana Cecilia Gonzales Vigil will present her latest work entitled "Adolecentes" (Teenagers). The exhibition is composed of a series of portraits in black and white, through which the artist intends to explore the motivations of a group of young people between the ages of 13-19, who were born between 1989 and 1995.

Póster: Revirtiendo el Ícono (Poster: Reverting the Icon) is an exhibition which displays the extremes to which the human need for role models in a consumerist society move people to admire and elevate ordinary images to the status of universal icons. The artists have chosen to work with posters because of their particular significance as key elements in propaganda, such that they can confront the spectator by sarcastically showing human fanatism and people's desperate need for idealized models.

Roxana Valdivieso-Concert

Peruvian singer Roxana Valdivieso is back at the Cocodrilo Verde Bar Lounge to repeat the success of her past show on July. Un-Faces - Exhibition

La Noche de los Asesinos- Theater

La Noche de los Asesinos (The Night of the Murderers) is a thriller that tells the story of three brothers, Lalo, Cuca and Beba. They are involved in a forbidden and dangerous game: the illogical transformation of the house they live in and the possible representation of their parents murder. A psychotic game that shows how the brothers are incapable of making life decisions, and how they are the representation of the things they criticize the most.

Mikashi Mikashi, en la Ruta del Kamishibai - Exhibition

Mukashi Mukashi, en la Ruta del Kamishibai (Mukashi Mukashi, on the Kamishibai Route) is a performance inspired on the Japanese technique Kamishibai for storytelling - a technique in which, as the storyteller narrates the story, paper images in a small wooden theater are shown to the audience. For this spectacle, Pepe Cabana Kojachi, the storyteller, has combined the popular Kamishibai with small wooden theaters made by Peruvian craftsmen (the traditional Ayacuchan retablo) - a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cultures. The event also includes an exhibition.

Casa Cor Perú 2009- Design Exhibition

This year Casa Cor Perú 2009 opens its doors to present the most modern advances in sustainable design. 62 professionals will be participating in the event, showing modern, creative and fresh ideas that are friendly to the environment. They have decorated 42 different rooms of the old Rossel House, making it look like a beautiful old fashioned European village house that blends perfectly the contemporary with the antique. It's a great opportunity to see some of the greatest decorative and architectonic proposals!

Oscilando Como El Paisaje - Art Exhibition

Oscilando Como El Paisaje (Oscillating Like The Landscape) is artist Carolina Kecskemethy's 7th individual exhibition. Her work here consists of great wall murals in which she combines landscape paintings and digital drawings with floral and erotic motifs, and focuses poetically on time, travel and the landscape. All of the exhibits intertwine among themselves to transmit different aspects of Kecskemethy's message.

El Deseo y el Vértigo (Desire and Vertigo) is Fernando Taboada's latest exhibition, in which the artist presents paintings, drawings and collages inspired upon the human eyes and body. Fernando Jara is a self-taught artist who has worked and lived in Germany, New York and the Peruvian Andes. In this exhibition, his work combines light, paintings and drawings on smooth, rocky surfaces.

Backstage - Photography Exhibition

In Backstage, her latest exhibition, photographer Sonia Cunliffe transports the observer to a world of movement, color, light and style, her images capturing the essence of one of the most popular fashion events in Latin America: Sao Paulo Fashion Week. Cunliffe has recently graduated from a Master Course in Photography at the Pan American School of Art in Sao Paulo. Backstage will be open to the public for a month.

Hijos del Sol y de la Tierra - Photography Exhibition

As part of the festival Amo Amazonía (I love the Amazon), photographer Monica Newton will exhibit a selection of 21 photographs of villages in the depths of the Amazon. Ever since the start of her career as a photojournalist in 1991, Monica has traveled extensively throughout the Peruvian jungle, always capturing on film the essence of the Amazon people. Nowadays, she considers these Hijos del Sol y de la Tierra (Children of the Sun and Earth) her mentors and teachers, because they have taught respect, care, gratitude, and to love life and nature as the most valuable things on this Earth.

Don Juan Regresa de la Guerra- Theater

Don Juan, a soldier that's fiscally and mentally destroyed after World War I returns to his home looking for his lost girlfriend, which he abandoned before going to war. It's a fascinating story that takes place in an atmosphere where the characters are filled with emotions like pride, disappointment, optimism and madness. Directed by Jorge Guerra and the Centro Cultural PUCP, the play promises to fill everyone's expectations!

Volpone - Theater

A satyrical comedy by Ben Jonson, directed by Roberto Ángeles, about noble (and not so noble) Limenian men whose main interest in life is to make their fortune grow, no matter how absurd things might get or the cost others have to pay at the expense of their ambition. Volpone (interpreted by Alberto Ísola) is a wealthy man who, with the help of his parasytical servant, Mosca, pretends to be on his deathbed in order to fool those who dream of his inheritance. A very promising performance, set in colonial times, Volpone is definitely an opportunity to have a good laugh!

1st Bike Tour Around Lake Titikaka

The 1st bike tour around Lake Titikaka organized by CTP cycling club will visit all towns located on the shores of the highest navigable lake on earth in approximately 7 days. Apuntes de Viaje-Exhibition

The Cuban master José Bedia is presenting his latest work at Enlace Art Gallery. The exhibition is composed of around 16 paintings, where the artist has managed to express how he feels about history, sociocultural surroundings, ethnic minorities and his own life.

La Chunga- Theater

After 20 years, one of the most famous plays by the recognized Peruvian writer, Mario Vargas Llosa returns to the stage. La Chunga was written in 1985 and tells the story of a romance, a crime or a fantastic event, depending on who's the one telling the story. The main character is a mature women "La Chunga", filled with sensuality an mystery. The plot revolves around her, when a group of friends tries to remember what happened on her room the night she put up an innocent girl. Touching themes such as power, death and freedom, It's a wonderful play that mixes the fantastic and the harsh Latin American reality.

Una Mirada al Paisaje Ancestral de los Yánesha - Exhibition

This exhibition has been organized as part of the cultural festival Amo Amazonía (I Love Amazonía). It includes drawings, songs, maps and documentaries that tell the history and vision of the Yánesha indigenous tribe. The Yánesha people live at the heart of the central Peruvian jungle, and they possess a very important oral tradition that keeps alive their culture, beliefs and ancestral roots.

Centro Abierto 09 - Exhibition

This year, the Museo de Arte de Lima (Lima Art Museum), Alta Tecnología Andina and Fundación Telefónica called on Peruvian and Latin-American artists to create specific site projects for the Centro Histórico de Lima (Historical Downtown Lima). The artists came up with very creative and unusual proposals, the best of which will be exhibited during La Gran Semana de Lima (Great Week of Lima) and carried out over the next few months.

Las Romeríssimas - Concert

Sisters Barbara and Elena Romero, popularly known as “Las Romeríssimas”, will sing again as a duo in a new performance called Las Romeríssimas: En El Túnel Del Tiempo (The Romeríssimas: In the Tunnel of Time). To celebrate the Italian restaurant Antica’s 10th anniversary, the sisters will be singing popular songs from the 60s and 70s every Saturday.

Paucartanpu - Theater (Event in Cusco)

Paucartanpu is a show in charge of KUSIKAY, a group that specializes in the creation of shows where elements like theater, circus performances, dances and music merge in a magnificent expression of folklore.
