Events for 7 November, 2009 [ 00:00 ]
Suggest an Event"Horizons With no Memories" by the Plastic Artist Rember Yahuarcani

Rember Yahuarcani, a young artist from the Huitoto culture in the Amazon, has become well known not only in our country but also abroad. He did not take any sort of art lessons; he taught himself and his work has evolved with time. This exhibition submerges us into a magical world where we will learn what the feminine presence means in his culture. Women give life but also maintain it and guarantee its continuity. To the artist, this showing is not about myths, history and traditions but about characters under a different light: his own, with movements and shapes from the Amazon that do not necessarily have a historic base in the Huitoto culture. For more information call the Oficina de Imagen Institucional: 619-7000, extension 5207.
