The Ministry of Energy and Mines reported yesterday that Peru leads the world production of some of the most demanded minerals in the world and the country is the second largest copper, silver and zinc producer.
According to La República, copper production in Peru represents 11.8% of the world total. “Also, zinc added 1.47 million TMF, a volume that translates into 11.6% of everything produced in the world with respect to that metal”, they said.
As for silver, in 2018 the production was of 4,163 TMF, making Peru number two in the world with a 15.5% share. Also, the country has the largest reserves of this metal, with 19.6% of the total existence on Earth.
