Last Sunday, ex-President Alberto Fujimori left prison to be hospitalized after experiencing hypertension and abdominal pain. He was discharged on Tuesday from the Clínica Centenario Peruano Japonesa in Pueblo Libre.
Fujimori, 80, is serving a 25-year sentence for the “murder and abduction of dozens of people in various violent incidents that occurred during his rule in the fight against the Shining Path guerrillas”, said Buenos Aires Times.
According to his doctor, Alejandro Aguinaga, Fujimori received an endoscopy because he was presenting symptoms of hemorrhagic erosive gastritis. After being discharged he was sent back to the Barbadillo prison.
