my friend and i had an awful experience at Plaza Vea!
when we ready to pay all the enormous amount of food we bought to bring home, my friend (who just came from california)decided to pay with credit card, and as a identification card she used her ID from california (which never had trouble using it in any other store in lima). nevertheless, the cashier got a really bad actitud about the ID saying out loud the she wouldn't accept that kind of identification. she was so rude we will never forget that experience. what is even worse is that we asked to speak with the supervisor and this girl called her friend (cashier next to her). ovbiously she wasn't the supervisor. and i have to point out that this wasn't the first time she was showing her ID to this store, but this was the first time she got to go through a such embarrasing time thanks to these 2 rude girls. none of them knew how to treat a costumer.
p.s. we're never going back there, instead we even rather to go to SUPERMERCADO METRO.

According to the law your and in a tourist case the only ID you can show up there is your passport, that is the document that let you in the country and keep your records. What everelse is not valid. Some people is nice and they don't care what type of doc the customer is carrying because they want to go to the next customer and finish with the one they have in front of them.
Off course they could be polite instead of been rude.
Going to metro or E-Wong(same company) doesn't mean that it won't happen the same thing again!!!

I went to Peru last Christmas. Plaza Vea definetely has not the best low prices but when you pay with any credit card they give you the option to spread the cost up to 12 months. In other words if your bill is around 500 soles you will be able to pay it in 12 months Plaza Vea will charge 41 soles a month to your Credit Card instead of the full amount.
You can find rude people everywhere in this world.

The good things about Plaza Vea in comparison to Metro is that you dont need to weigh any fruit or vegetable before paying. The cashier does it for you while you are paying. Way more convenient.
