An excellent experience. I am not accustomed to the use of so many props but that is part of the Iyengar school of yoga. The class can hold as many as 10 or so students. So it is intimate. The students are very helpful & welcoming, and you immediately feel a communal energy.
Susanne is warm, witty, and thorough. She is watching everything we do and focused not only on each student's personal health issues ["Does your back hurt in this position?"] but the actual form of the asana [how correctly that student maintains the essential position.]
I never broke into a sweat: that was a first for me. I love how hard yoga drives my body and how peaceful I feel afterwards. So, that doesn't happen in the 'basics' class. But maybe a great practice is more important than an exhausted one.
I think of this school as a great place to tune-up my practice under the watchful eyes of a hawk.
I thoroughly recommend this school but suggest that you realize it will probably be a new kind of experience for you.
