Huachipa is by far the Riding Club with the best facilities. It is located only 15 minutes from the Chacarilla area. I have been riding there for 15 years, there are a few instructors to choose from depending on your riding level, they all speak english and the horses provided are well cared for, not so in other establishments in Lima. If you just want to ride for relaxation you may do so in the beautiful woods where there is a large variety of wildlife. There is an active Handicapped Riding Program run by Lily Becker, who has many years experience in Germany with challenged riders. you can hang out in the gorgeous Club house, have lunch or read a good book while your family members enjoy themselves.

Huachipa is the only place you should consider if you are serious about riding.  With the exception of the Club Hipico in Villa, all other riding establishments in Lima do not provide adequate care of their horses. The horses are frequently underfed, mistreated, and poorly trained.  Huachipa is a 12-15 minute drive from the American School, Colegio Roosevelt.  There are no traffic lights once you pass the toll.  I strongly recommend you do not waste your time going to any other riding academy.  I have tried all of them (both me and my children), and they are not worth your time.

As a member from the 1970s I was wondering how to contact old friends from those days. I have, to no avail, written but have now given up. Would anyone please let me know how the following friends are?
Phyllis Sears, Rocio (was Aramburu), Andreas Aramburu, and
Caesar del Rio. Many Thanks, Susie

Susie,

I am not familiar with the people on your list except for Phyllis Sears as I joined Huachipa about 7 years ago.  You're welcome to call me 998128717 or write me and I'll tell you how to get a hold of her.

Susan

Thank you.
