It was alright, but I wasn't impressed. The scenery is fantastic, service is OK, but I never felt 100 % welcome. It was as if we should be happy and thankful that they wanted to serve us and not the other way around. I felt strange and the food didn't save the service. Maybe I went there after a big tourist group forgot to leave a tip. I don't know, but I surely didn't felt welcome that evening.

I think the food and service is great. I go there every chance I get. I would recommend this restaurant to any of my friends without hesitation.

Dear Gino de Martis
As I wrote in my newsletter last week, this is a great restaurant, which in my opinion has improved very much since I wrote my last comment more than a year ago. This restaurant is a must try and the both the food and scenery is very enjoyable.
P.S. The Oxtail Soup is FANTASTIC.

Wonderful location. Last time we visited, Feb 2007, the staff ignored our requests to lower the music blaring in the bar, so we left. Am looking forward to improved service on my next visit and to that oxtail soup!

I ate at La Rosa last night and thought it was good, but not necessarily outstanding. The location can´t be beat, and I thought the service was good, but also not outstanding. I had a recommended ceviche with a sauce on it: the fish was very good, but there was too much sauce, and I had keep scraping it off. For my main course I had the Rosa Nautica fish baked in Pernod and puff pastry. Also good, but looking at another couple that had a plain grilled fish, theirs looked better. Dessert was very good: two very large pieces of a chocolate mousse pie. I guess my only complaint is that is was full of tourists, but I guess that is to be expected. With half a bottle of good Spanish white wine, it was a very expenisve meal by Lima standards, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I would recommend it for parties or groups, or to impress and entertain clients or a romantic evening. If you´re a "foodie" like me, and came to Lima primarily to eat, then by all means go. It´s on everyones list and you should try it atleast once.

This is my third visit to Peru this year, and Rosa Nautica remains one of the best choices for sea food anywhere in Lima. The atmosphere is excellent and the service is friendly, helpful and compentent and made my visit there a memorable occasion.

How pathetic to grade your own restaurant with 5 stars 3 times...
