The KAPALLAQ Restaurant was founded on July 5, 1996. Our excellent selection of seafood dishes is prepared according to original Peruvian and Vasque recipes, some of them cooked in the traditional "clay pots". Over the last 10 years we have received important recognition and awards, like "The Best Ceviche of Lima 2002" a gold medal for "The Best Peruvian Dish" and "The Silver Llama", a dining guide created by 2000 expatriates living in Lima.
We are open for lunch only from Monday to Saturday, from 12:00 - 6:00 p.m. All major credit cards are accepted and lots of parking space is available. Our chef and owner, Luis Cordero Larrabure welcomes you.

Without any doubt one of Lima's best Seafood restaurants, which is a must to try while visiting or living in Peru.
It’s recommended to make reservations.

It is one of Lima's best vasque fusion restaurants in Lima. Should not miss it if doing gastronomic tour.

At Number 17 on the Reader's Top 20 list ?....really....LivinginPeru.com has to update this list. Kapallaq should move up to Number 10 or 11 or least. This is a nice husband/wife run restuarant. We always like places were we can see the food being prepared and better yet...visit inside the kitchen. Lucho and his wife Denise provided us both. Since it is only open between 12-6...the seafood is always going to be fresh.
It's a small, 2-dining room place in an old house (Sarita's family had once lived nearby), nautical-themed decorations, simple furniture but cozy. Lucho has surfed many huge waves and there a few photos of him "hanging ten" on display. Denise is very charming and helpful in explaining items on the menu.
The food...interesting presentation, very nice...and delicious! The little details are addressed...cancha right from the stovetop.
We went to Kapallaq in January 2009 on a Thursday when it opens. Not many people at first...not to worry ...by the time we left it was packed. About S/.60 for two....we'll be back next year.
