Had two super meals in this restaurant.
The sea food was exceptional and if you visit then do try the cerviche..... a dish to remember

I'm special to eat fish and seafood but in Alfresco you can eat fresh and good dishes.

Based on the review of Al Fresco and diners comments, we visited this restaurant w/ great hopes of a authentic Peruvian experience. Unfortunately this was not the situation as the food was ordinary, at best. Despite menu descriptions of fresh seafood and whole fish, what was served was frozen shrimp and fish fillets drowned in pre-made sauces resembling portions and presentations no better than the Cheescake Factory or Olive Garden in the States. The pedestrian fare was complemented by the fumes of large tour buses out front shuttling groups of 20-30 tourists for "reasonable dinning". As the adage proves, you get what you pay for. Inexpensive ordinary fare not worth the trip for those interested in experiencing what Lima has to offer, spectacular fresh seafood in an absolutely wonderful country. Al Fresco is what we would call a 'tourist trap". Apologies for the bad news.

This is one of the best restaurants I have ever tried (And believe me, I´ve tried a lot!). Spectacular fish and seafood dishes, good portions and good price-quality ratio! ...Not to forget that their Pisco Sour is among the best ones I´ve ever had. great Place!

This place has its off days, I agree, the trick is to just order a bunch of starters, usually they are fresh, and to go there for lunch. Still the prices are a bit stiff.

I visited the restaurant in 2007, 2008 and then again in 2009 and the atmosphere, the food and presentation was great. The third time I brought businessmen who enjoyed the pleasant meal; the place was not noisy and could conduct important negotiations in a quaint setting. The foreign business men that I brought to Peru with me were so impressed that they made a promised to return with their families to my beloved country… and they did.
