I love duck and I have tasted it in several ways, when I went to la Huaca Restaurant I got the worse duck dish I have ever tried in my life, it got NO taste at all, it was frozen or old!
My husband got 4 shrimps as a "main dish",perhaps in some French restaurants you can have small portions, but 4 shrimps is ridiculous.

Great place, great ambiance, great service, great food.
Perfect place to bring foreigners who will be very impressed and have an unforgettable gastronomic experience.

I have been to this restaurant several times and I had varied experiences each time. The setting is perfect with views of the ruins and Lima and the background. What I have had problems with is the service, which for a place like this should be much better.

One visits this restaurant not to be bowled over by the food, but to soak in the one-of-a-kind ambiance. There's nothing like having your meal while sitting literally in the middle of an ancient ruin. The fact that the food, while competently prepared for the most part, is not stellar is kind of beside the point. Take someone from out of town that you wish to impress, or go yourself if you're here for a visit!

Our rating 8/10. We read all of the reviews and were careful ordering. We had a great meal with excellent service. The dramatic setting, the music and dancing, and the design and décor of the building created a perfect stage set for the meal. We shared Anticuchos de cordero (S/.24), Canilla de cordero (S.49), Mont Gras Colchagua Valley Chile Carmenere 2005 (S/.90), and a rice pudding (S/.22). Our bill was S/.217 and definitely worth it.

Very nice to look at the Huaca with the lights on in the evening, but the service and the food, awfull, first of all it feels like an attempt to get most money out of foreigners as possible, second the waiters attend the tables with a discontent for the people who actually are paying their salaries, food is poor, have actually eaten better in a small family place in Chorrillos for 12 soles than at this place.
And by the way, the first impression you get when you arrive at night is a guide chasing you in order to pay for a guided tour in the Huaca ... low!

Bad Service and very small portions for that price.
Although we had made reservations, we arrived and there was no table. We went to the bar to have some drinks under the promese that a table would be available soon. After over 1 hour of waiting we got our table. We got lots of bread during the 2 hours of waiting for our meal. After many wines and bread of waiting we decided to leave. We asked for the bill and as a miracle, our food arrived. The food was cold and to be honest nothing good for the price. I literally got 6 raviolis over my plate that were not very tasty. After complaining and trying to talk to the manager (who never showed up since he was busy) they try to apologize giving us free dessert, which did not make up for their service.
The view is nice. I would recommend, to go only for drinks and maybe a dessert.

Great food, super atmosphere and good service. Overall a nice place to go for lunch, although for what it cost, 380 Soles for 3 adults and 1 child, I would prefer other restaurants in Lima.
All-in-all, for a one off visit to the ruins, well worth a visit!
