is a very good place to try Peruvian Japanese cuisine. Humberto Sato, who is the owner, is recognized as the father of Peruvian Japanese cuisine

We were very disapointed with our meal and it is listed as the second best restaurant for food in "La Guia del buen comer". We had 2 mains (conchitas al miso was an uninspired liquid with scallops floating it it and machu picchu grill--totally uninteresting) with te verde. At 9 pm we were almost alone in the restaurant, although Sr. Tomita was smoking at the bar. He never greeted us. Rating 5/10

I would like to take the opportunity to level out the first comment.
Costanera 700 is one of the "best" restaurants in Peru. It is adjacent to Francesco, a noteworthy neighbor. I will say that there is fine dining all around Miraflores and Costanera 700 is open lunch and dinner...with most of traditional trade ocurring mid -day like most seafood
restaurants. There are lots of corporate clients.
The service is attentive and informative. Some of the spectacular
dishes are the the Chita in salt, the grilled octopus, the sea snails,
and the traditional Causa.I like the place better at day than night....but the cuisine is equally
rewarding. I rate it at the top for Japanese cuisine with Peruvian accents. Hats off for the Chita in salt!

I have to agree with the first comment. I went to this place because it was one of the pioneers in the so-called "Nikkei cuisine" I tried the supossed "top-of-the-list" dishes (Chita a la Sal, Parihuela, Arroz con Mariscos among others), the food was not bad, but not outstanding either... So, I think they are far overpriced. The general value for money relationship is very bad.

Have to agree with the majority there, been there twice, not impressed, but I find this is becoming common with some of the top ranked bistros in Lima, resting in their laurels?
Could say the same thing about Punta Sal, Señorio de Sulco, la Huaca P., Las Brujas de Cachiche, Pescados Capitales, I guess it is a question of turnover, I find it is an alarming trend.
