Living in Peru with kids have advantages and disadvantages as anywhere in the world. The place you choose to live is very important when you have a family, there are some neighbourhoods which are better than others and there are better facilities for families such as green areas, less pollution and security.
In Lima there is a range of private schools, where English, German, French, Chinese and Italian are taught. There are also many places where children have fantastic opportunities to learn to swim, martial arts, dance, music, theater, painting, ceramics, etc. There are also some clubs where it is possible to become a temporary member, as well as facilities for diplomats and employees of international organizations.
Most of the public restaurants will allow kids and there are some with special activities for them. It is also possible to hire someone to look after the children, such as a nanny or a maid. In smaller cities there are fewer choices, though it is possible to visit small villages and enjoy the beautiful, natural surroundings.
