We are a beautiful peaceful lodge located on the slow moving Momon river, tributary of the Nanay River which itself flows into the might Amazon. We are 14 km from the city of Iquitos. The lodge has 22 large bungalows and a capacity of 120 beds. We have all the creature comforts such as two swimming pools (one with a 34 meter water slide, the other floating in the river), jacuzzi, a large restaurant with typical fresh food from the region, two bars, two look-out towers (one overlooking the river where you can enjoy the fabulous dawns and sunsets, the other with a view of the jungle). We have two public telephones (phone cards and coins), two laptop computers and WiFi for your own laptops, a 12 KW quiet diesel generator, solar powered hot water and satellite tv in seven bungalows, 8 septic tanks (no waste goes into the river!!), solar panels for electricity at nighttime, a large kitchen, and 3 gas powered fridges and an activities room with billiards, table soccer, ‘zappo’ (frogs!?), and ping pong.
Daytime activities include treks through the rainforest on foot with a guide and canoe rides on the river. Also visits to the Butterfly Farm, Monkey Island, the Jibaro, Jawa and Bora indigenous tribes, and the Serpentarium. Also the mini zoo and botanical gardens, all these run by local Peruvians. Nighttime activities include a canoe ride in absolute silence to listen to the sounds of the jungle, playing card games and dominoes and playing guitar and other wind instruments. We have a special hut to carry out the ayahuaska ceremony with an initiated shaman.
Mixed with the chakruna hallucinogenic plant you go on a wild ride inside your self with the Shaman as your guide (this experience is quite voluntary and is not for the faint of heart).
