We went to the Clinica Anglo Americana when our 1-year old inadvertently swallowed a coin.  We were delighted to find that the doctor covering the ER was not only solicitous and responsive, but spoke excellent English and immediately put us at ease.  We received prompt attention and were never made to wait more than was necessary.  Both the heads of Pediatrics and Gastroenterology were consulted on our son's case.  Dr. Martin Tagle, the head of Gastroenterology, performed a successful endoscopy on our son to retrieve the coin.  He thoroughly explained every aspect of the procedure and gave us a DVD and a written explanation for our records.  The Clinica was clean, orderly and the staff very professional.  Their equipment was up to date and the staff seemed very knowledgeable.  Should the need arise, we would visit the Clinica again.

If you are interested in getting the information about fertility and in vitro-fertilization.
The Peruvian doctors have been doing this proceedure for more than three decades.
The physicians form the Anglo-American Clinic, as well as, other doctors in Peru are highly experienced and recommended.

I plan to move to Miraflores soon. My Blue Cross/Blue Shield is "In Network" with Clinica Anglo Americana.
Can you tell me:
- Is the Clinic close to Miraflores?
- Is the medical care excellent?
- Do they do all billing?

Hi people, I live in Miami yet I was born and raised in Lima. 2 of my cousins underwent IVF cicles with both Dr. Asenzo and Dr. Velit and nothing happened ($5000+meds x cicle) so I decided to get a lona and come see Dr. Roseff in Wellington, Florida 561-333-8232 reproendo.com I got pregnant with twin girls on my frist try and we are sooo happy about it. Dr. Roseff has the highest succes rate in Fl and comes from NY where he was extremely well known for his fertility treatments. I swear if I had to do it all over again, I would in a second !!!! He is not only caring and tender, he is the best informed and most updates fertility Doctor I have ever met (and I have interview with at least 5 of the tops in Florida, such as Denker, Florida IVF, etc, etc) I know IVF is cheaper in Peru but medications and dosage are soooooooo diferent, the first consultation with Dr. Roseff is free and it takes 4 hrs. My wife and I just gave birth to our first child at the Anglo American Clinic this week, and I can't say enough good things about the top-rate staff and the service we received. Dr. Carlos Gutierrez (OB/GYN) is top notch and was our doctor throughout the entire pregnancy and birth. Dr. Silvia Cachay was our paediatrician after the birth, very friendly and professional.

As happy as we were with the nursing staff and doctors, we can not say the same thing about the clinic's billing department. We did not have insurance so I asked for two quotations five months prior to our due date, one for a natural birth, the other for a caesarian birth. We were very clear in our request, we wanted to know the total cost for these two ideal situations. The quotes we received seemed reasonable and in agreement with what our foreign friends had paid at other clinics, in the order of $1000-$2000.

When checking out of the hospital yesterday we discovered that the quote did not include the fees of the various doctors involved. The final bill was about 10,000 soles or $3,250, almost triple what we expected to pay (natural birth with epidural). When I questioned the billing department about this and showed them the quotes they had provided, they told me that I had not read the fine print in Spanish about the doctor's fees. I feel like we were duped.

Be very careful when dealing with the billing department as getting things in writing doesn't seem to matter much.

If you do have insurance, or you are not concerned about the cost, do not hesitate to use this clinic; the staff and doctors are top-notch, and the hospital is both clean and modern.

Hello,

I live  California and my adult daughter is now in the hospital at the Clinic Anglo-Americana with severe abdominal pain/bloating/ blockage? I'm flying there on Tuesday.  Is there anyone who has had experiences there with emergency surgery and or G.I. issues - things do not seem to be resolving.  Any info would be helpful

My daughter in law is flying to Peru tomorrow and has to take her sister who lives there for medical evaluation.  She may have gall bladder problems, like 3 of her siblings who have been living in the US and recently all 3 had to have their gall bladders removed.  She has been seeking medical care but nothing was found and it's a similar situation as her sister who lives here.  It wasn't until she had an MRI that the doctor found out that her gall bladder had to be removed.  Can anyone let me know where she can go to get an MRI and good medical care.  She is in a lot of pain and nothing is being done for her.  Thank you.

Hi guys, sadly because of my telling on this website I've had big issues with my in-laws due to the mental illness from my husband's sister whocould never become a mother (thank God for that!) and who has nothing productive to do but harm and bother others online .... so I am retiring all my comments even tho she has printed my comments and faxed them to my in-laws (what a hell? sickooooo)
