American filmmaker Eli Roth will start filming parts of his new movie ‘The Green Inferno’ in Peru, next Monday.

Roth, who is known for directing and writing Cabin Fever and Hostel – as well as for his role in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds – said ‘The Green Inferno’ would be the “scariest and most intense film” he has ever made.

According to El Comercio, the film involves a group of New Yorkers who, on their way to the Amazon, are involved in a plane crash that leaves them stranded in the middle of a cannibalistic tribe in the jungle.

Roth will film scenes for the movie in a remote native community near Tarapoto, the daily said.

>"The location that we found is truly spectacular," Roth said to >Movieline.

"It’s so far up the Amazon, no one has ever shot there. The last person anywhere near there was Werner Herzog for Aguirre, the Wrath of God."
