Workshops are the best, especially when they are food related. From March 9-18 you will be able to take your cooking skills to the next level.

Forget diamonds being a girl’s best friend or a dog being man’s: food is everyone’s best friend. This week we are talking delicious food workshops that will challenge you to chop, stir and bake your way towards culinary expertise – or at least the know-how for some weekday basics.

1. Salads and Dressings Workshop
Not everyone loves salad, but if you doll it up with the right dressing, you can convince even the pickiest eaters to enjoy a bunch of veggies at once. This course is perfect for anyone wanting to learn something quick and healthy. During the class you will prepare four delicious salads (including an exotic tabulé de quinua) along with three dressings (vinagreta, honey mustard and oriental dressing).

2. Vegetarian cooking classes
The NaturLandia Institute will be hosting this great vegetarian cooking workshop until July. Each class will give you the opportunity to learn how to make something special. The first course will be about sprouts (germinados) followed by a course on vegetable milks taking place March 25.

3. Healthy Breakfast workshop
They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, that’s why this workshop is a good way to keep you on track with keeping a healthy lifestyle. This workshop will include natural ingredients and superfoods native to Peru. As a plus, this course is completely vegan which means you’ll likely be learning a whole new set of recipes and techniques. 4. Sushi Nikkei Workshop
Come learn the ancient art of sushi and Nikkei in this Peruvian Japanese fusion workshop. In this fun and social course you will learn to prepare Shari, rice for sushi, cuts and preparation of maki fillings, you will also learn how to prepare nigiri, furai and sauces. You will also receive recipes and a certificate of completion. So get ready to roll up your sleeves for this awesome workshop.

5. Tea blending Workshop
Now this may not be food, but to “bajar la comida”, as the Peruvians say, is so important for healthy digestion. This two-part tea blending workshop will cover medicinal plants for your tea and how to dry plants and fruits properly for your blend. In addition, you will also learn about different teas, crops and climates that influence the aroma and flavors of teas. In part one you will learn the cultivation of tea and the art of blending. In the second half you will learn infusion and temperature practices along with tests.
