The documentary film _Buscando a Gastón_ was nominated for Best Documentary Film at the Imagen Awards for Cinema in Los Angeles, according to “Andina news agency”:http://www.andina.com.pe/agencia/noticia-pelicula-gaston-acurio-nominada-a-los-imagen-awards-hollywood-564714.aspx.
At the event, director Patricia Perez’s film about the Peruvian chef will be competing with films from studios such as PBS and ABC Studios.
The awards ceremony is one that honors the achievements of creativity, positive portrayals and Latin cultures in television and film in the United States.
“We are so excited and happy to be able to represent Peru at such an important event like this. So far we can not believe it, to see our documentary competing with major studios is an incredible thing to be proud of,” director Perez tells Andina.
Among the nominees in other categories are Diego Luna, Gael García Bernal, Kate del Castillo, and programs like Law and Order, Modern Family, The Fosters, among others.
_Buscando a Gastón_ has already won Best Culinary Movie in the Festival de San Sebastián, Best editing and documentary film in Bel Air, Best Food Film in Portugal and Best Food Feature documentary in New York.
