Our Pisco is more and more, garnering international recognition among experts in the field of spirits.

WINNERS: Recent international contest

Our national spirit is still among the favorites of the French enologist union. In the spirits category, Pisco received nine medals.

As in past years, the French enologist union presented its acknowledgements to the participants of the 2007 International Vinalies Contest, which took place a few weeks ago in Paris. According to the results, Pisco obtained nine medals – three gold and six silver- in nine samplings of out national spirit.

Selected tasters from different international wine regions were in charge of tasting the competing samples from all over the World. Their mission (according to the rules set forth by the Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin, the Union Internationale de Enologues and the Federación Mondiale des Grands Concurs Internationaux de Vins et Spiritueux which stipulate that of each of the panels be comprised of five or seven professionals - two French and five International, and that the president of the table be a French enologist) consists in giving each sample presented points along with their tasting comments.

“Our desire is to give, through the prizes given at the Vinalies Internationales, an added value to the crops that receive prizes”, explained the organizers of this event. Also, receiving this recognition from the experts, gives to those recognized a reason to be proud of the high quality product that they are offering to the consumer. Obviously, this year this recognition of quality has been closely associated with the Designation of Origin of Pisco.
