Pisco of the Month - Buena Cosecha

The Buena Cosecha Pisco brand began its operations in the year 2000 at the Don Isidoro vineyards in Villacuri which we own.

The farm currently grows about 80 HT of Quebranta grapes, and the rest of the production is divided between the Torontel and Moscatel varieties.
Recently, we set up a pilot plant with an annual Pisco production capacity of 200,000 Liters.

In the short time that the Buena Cosecha brand has been in the market, it has been able to position itself as a Premium brand earning two medals in 2005. One of which being the Silver medal for its Quebranta Pisco at the 2005 Pisco Nationals, and then the Gold medal for its Acholado variety at the 2007 regional contest in Ica, coming in with the highest score at the event.

Currently, abut 40 % of our sales are to top hotels and restaurants in Lima. One of the restaurants where we are the Pisco of the house is at La Caleza. They hold the Guinness World book record for the largest production of Pisco Sours in the world in recognition of Sammy Barman at their bar.

Our warehouses, located at Km 272 of the Panamericana North at Pamapa de Villacuri in ICA, house the latest technology grape processing and pressing machinery brought in from Italy. We also have a serpentine still with a 2500 Liter capacity as well as a second direct still with a 1500 Liter capacity, both with gas burners brought in from Argentina.

Our total plant processing capacity is 200,000 Liters. And since we do not produce our own brand to full capacity, we offer processing services to third parties. This year we had among our clients:

Pisco Don Cesar Tacna
Pisco Pozo Santo DESTILERIAS UNIDAS
Pisco la Caleza (Restaurant brand)
Pisco Perret (Restaurant brand)

Our Selección Buena Cosecha line has a minimum settling period of one year before its ready for consumption. Our Traditional line is a young Pisco that settles for a minimum of 5 months to one year.

But our star Pisco in recent years has been the Torontel variety in two different presentations, the Torontel Mosto Verde under the Perret brand and the Buena Cosecha organic line.

We are also very proud of our Acholado Pisco which is a blend of the 40 % Quebranta, 40% Torontel and 20% Italia grapes. This blend earned us the Gold medal in Ica.

Our products can be found at all Wong and Vivanda grocery stores and at Liquor stores in Lima. We are also at the following locations as Pisco of the house: Caleza Restaurant, Sheraton Hotel, Punta Sal Restaurant, Chifa Royal Restaurant and Norky’s Restaurants.
