Hello again,
An interesting note about our Pisco making inroads abroad.
Cheers,
Hans
Pisco producers receive awards in contests in France and England

Several Peruvian producers received a total of 14 medals at wine and spirit contests in Brussels and London this year. At the Brussels World Contest, which this year took place in Burdeos, France, our national piscos received a Grand Gold Medal, two Gold and nine Silver medals.
Likewise at the Wine and Spirit Competition of Great Britain, Peruvian Pisco received two “Gold Best in Class” medals as well as a significant number of certificates. For that reason, a ceremony was held, presided by the Vice chancellor, Ambassador Gonzalo Gutiérrez, to present the prizes to the winners.
It should be pointed out that the Grand Gold Medal of the Brussels World Contest was won by Viñas de Oro for their 2007Pisco Mosto Verde Torontel; and the gold medals went to Bodegas y Viñedos Tabernero for their Tabernero Pisco Italia Style, La Botija 2007 and Tabernero Pisco Quebranta, La Botija 2007. The silver medals were awarded to Agroindustrial Cuneo, Viña Ocucaje and Sucesión Indivisa Rosa Bravo de Elías.
Our national drink was also awarded two “Gold Best in Class” medals at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in London for the quality of Peruvian products: El Sarcay de Azpitia Torontel 2007 produced by El Alambique de Azpitia and Ocucaje Pisco 100 años, Mosto Verde Italia produced by Viña Ocucaje. A total of 23 certificates were awarded to other products from Agroindustrial Viejo Tonel, Ovni beverages, Kaitos, El Alambique de Azpitia and Viña Ocucaje.
The ceremony counted with the participation of important representatives of other prize winning producers and of the main associations and public institutions of the Peruvian wine and Pisco producing sector, whose quality was once again internationally recognized.
