Every few months the Marriott hotel puts together a fantastic dinner and show that features some of the best flavors and entertainment that you can find in Lima. This month beginning Thursday August 20th and running until Saturday August 22nd, the Marriott is featuring "Festival de Fuegos y Brasas," which will be a showcase for fine meats, fine wine, and Tango dancing!

In my experience, I don't think I've ever been to a buffet that can boast prime cuts of beef along with the other offerings. However, the JW Marriott buffets are in a class of their own. From the Spanish festival (where chefs cooked exotic shrimp dishes to order) to the Thai festival (which was designed with the help of the Thai ambassador), the Marriott has a reputation for getting everything right.

In addition to meat, diners at "Fuegos y Brasas" will be able to try some delicious empanadas, sausages, and various pasta dishes. I was able to sample a small part of the menu at the event's launch last Monday and the flavors were rich and enticing.
The event will also be featuring wines from Santa Julia from the Zuccardi family (one glass is included with the price), and a Tango performance which is sure to "transport you to the antique streets of Buenos Aires."

Finishing everything of will come a splendid dessert tray featuring delicate morsels that melt in your mouth.

In sort, if you're in Lima this weekend and you're looking for a wonderful dining experience, look no further than the "Festival de Fuegos y Brasas." I've had the opportunity to personally attend several of these dinner shows, and they're definitely a must-see event on the Lima social calendar. But make your reservations today, the Marriott's buffets tend to sell out early and it'd be a shame to get all dressed up and have no place to go.
