Peru's government will inject more resources to strengthen the Mivivienda program, targeting low-income Peruvians, announced today President Alan García Pérez.
These statements were made during the dialogue held this morning with entrepreneurs from the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), at the Government Palace.
In relation to mortgage lending, he said that since banks take too long and calculate their risks too much, the government needs to inject mortgage resources through the National Bank.
There are 11 major housing projects underway in different parts of Lima, he said, the Government seeks to encourage the construction of Matellini Project in Chorrillos, several thousand homes, but noted that this happens to stimulate the mortgage payment capacity of individuals, a matter which will require great effort next year.
