Peru's Minister of Tourism (Mincetur), Martín Pérez,
said today that the increasing arrival of Latin American tourists in Peru will compensate the decrease in the number of arrivals from USA, Europe and Asia.
"The arrival of more Brazilian, Chilean and other Latin American tourists has grown tremendously and this has offset the declining number of visitors coming from the U.S., Japan and Europe," he said.
The Minister also explained that Mincetur has been launching intensive promotional campaigns in different Latin American countries, and very especially in Chile.
"Chile is the main source of tourism to Peru, they visit generally Cusco, Arequipa and Lima as well as Tacna since the most of visitors enter via this city," added Pérez.
