Juan Sarmiento, former Deputy Minister of Construction and Sewage, has just been appointed as Peru's new
Housing, Construction and Sanitation Minister, according to a Radio Programas del Perú (RPP) report.
Sarmiento comes from APRA; he had been mentioned as a possible candidate before by former Minister Nidia Vílchez, and is fairly well known as an Alan García supporter.
President Garcia will swear-in Sarmiento at 1pm, at Lima's Government Palace.
The President of the region of Ica said that he expects that the new minister will be a "proactive" person.
