"La teta asustada" (The Milk of Sorrow) will be the Peruvian film to included in the pre-selection for the
Oscar 2010 Awards.
According to RadioProgramas del Perú, the news was confirmed by Claudia Llosa, the film's director, who said she was “very excited” about this new challenge for her work.
“I was told that my film was chosen as the one to represent Peru in the Oscar Awards' preselection, and now our next goal is to be also chosen as one of the nominees in the Best Foreign Language Film category,” Llosa said.
“It would be a dream come true, but by now I'm happy and thankful with this, and with all the acknowledments my film has received,” said the Peruvian filmmaker.
The final nominations will be made public next year.
