US will continue efforts to combat Peruvian drug trafficking in 2010

Andina

The U.S. ambassador to Peru, Michael McKinley, said his government is considering the possibility of increasing economic aid to Peru to combat drug trafficking, which reached 150 million dollars this year; however, debate on the budget for next year is not over.

"We remain committed to continue working with the government of Peru in the fight against drug trafficking. We are expecting an increase, but I cannot make a forecast, because the budget is still under debate," he said in remarks to the press.

Speaking to reporters following a ceremony at the Government Palace, McKinley reiterated the U.S. government's decision to maintain its cooperation with Peru.

"We are expecting an increase, but I cannot make a forecast, because the budget is still under debate. The US government is likely to increase its assistance. We are allocating 150 million dollars this year," said the diplomat.

On the other hand, he preferred not to talk about the request by Peruvian defense minister for the US support in dealing with terrorism.

If carlos loved Peru, he would support his country to combat drugs.

Instead he just spends all day playing with his coputer writing over and over how much he hates the US.

Peru does not need the USA, nor does it need Carlos.

Why fighting, we are together in this world, and what affects one. affects the other. Peru has had the coca for ever, was the people from very rich countries who converted it in a very profitable drug and is buying and consuming it. We need to stop the consume as we need to stop the production; one is as important as the other. only sharing rsponsabilities we are going to be able to do something about it!!!

You are more sad and delusional than you were yesterday.  I'm afraid this will only get worse.

And Carlos, what part of the USA have you lived in or visited for any period of time that helps you exclaim that you hate the USA and would never live there?  And don't make anything up from the stories you read on the internet!

Carlos reminds me of Phillip, remember him? He would burn his country to the ground if it hurt the US in some way. Carlos you are to full of hate to be helpful here. I think you should take a long vacation in a mental facility, after a few shock treatments you will feel like a new man. CIA is that Carlos In Asylum? I'm all for it. Ok Chico Loco until next time have a good session. (someone get him a bib he's drooling again).

The so-called war on drugs has been a failure.  As for Carlos's hatred of the U.S. and his insistence that Peru can handle "its own country" leads me to believe that he's on crack. You can Google and YouTube until your head explodes from all the crackpot conspiracy theories, amigo.
