After reaching a milestone by becoming the youngest International Grand Master in history, Jorge Cori aims
to become one of the greatest exponents of chess.
"My next goal is to have a place among the top 20 in the world, and I will strive to achieve it. I would like to be someday like a Karpov or Kasparov," he said to Peru.21.
The young chess player said that with the help from private enterprise and from his parents he was able to prepare outside Peru, participating in tournaments in Spain, France and Iceland.
He believes that without this support he could not have achieved this success.
"I hope this success I have achieved may sensitize Peruvian authorities, because we have many talents that end up being wasted due to lack of support," he added.
