Peruvian actress Magaly Solier was awarded with the
Best Actress Prize at the Festival du Nouveau Cinema in Montreal (Canada), because her role of "Fausta" in "La Teta Asustada" (The Milk of Sorrow).
The film and Magaly Solier were also acknowledged with the Association Québécoise des Critiques de Cinema (AQCC) that chose “The Milk of Sorrow” for the international film award.
Solier published this information in her Facebook profile, and thanked Canada and the Festival's organization for the award.
Solier's career, which started having international success when “The Milk of Sorrow” won both the first prize and the critics' award at Berlinale, seems to be reaching far more success abroad than local critics had expected.
