More than 400 people gathered at Agua Dulce beach, in the Limenian district of Chorrillos, to form with their bodies
a quite suggestive phrase: “Amo Amazonía” ("I love Amazon.").
Despite the weather was not the best, the people's mood was in fact the best as they were photographed by the artist John Quigley, recognized worldwide for creating human art images.
The event was organized and conducted by Amo Amazonía, which is carrying out several activities aimed at promoting natural and cultural wealth of the Peruvian jungle.
"We must be proud of our people and our resources [...]. What we want is to show the Peruvian jungle, and move it to Lima so that everyone can know about it,” said Kike Basurto, General Coordinator.
The organization is preparing a concert, scheduled for next Saturday at the Parque de la Muralla in Cercado de Lima. This show, which will feature nine Peruvian bands (including La Mente, Bareto and Los Mirlos) is free.
