Shopping malls in Peru will close 2009 with a turnover of
US $2.4 billion dollars, due to the opening of new stores and the growing of the existing ones, said the Association of Commercial and Entertainment Centers in Peru (ACCEP).
"We estimate that the increase in the areas for sales will bring positive figures, with a growth of 5% and revenues a turnover of not less than US $2.4 billion dollars," said Percy Vigil, vice President of ACCEP.
Since new shopping centers opened during the second half of 2008, the true complete results would be available only by the end of this year.
He also explained that during 2009, the flow of visits to the malls was not affected despite the effects of international crisis.
