The famous Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Florez is currently learning Quechua in order to sing a duet with Magaly Solier in November, according to Los Andes.

The song they will sing is “Citaray,” written by Solier, which is included in her first album “Warmi.”

Citaray is composed in the native language of Magaly Solier, Quechua.

When Juan Diego Florez heard her album for the first time, he was impressed by the talent of the Peruvian actress, and this was the song that impressed him the most.

When the singers met, Solier explained Florez the story behind Citaray, and they decided to perform this song together on stage in Lima.

Florez considers that learning Quechua is a way to show some respect to Magaly Solier's work.

Excellent . I too am a proud Peruvian who is fluent in Quechua.
I think all Peruvians should learn Quechua.
