Peru's Health Ministern Oscar Ugarte, said that his sector will announce today what actions will be taken in order to cope with the Constitutional Court (TC) decision which prohibits the free distribution of the so-called "morning-after pill."
Ugarte, who days ago said publicly that he disagrees with the TC's decision, because in his opinion it is "discriminatory against the poorest population" and announced he will give a press conference today around noon.
On the other side, President Alan García expressed his respect to the TC's decisions, to avoid further controversy on this issue that is already generating conflicting views in the Cabinet.
Garcia said he has his own views on this issue, but that he considers it would be inappropriate to express them publicly.
