Peruvian surfer Sofia Mulanovich will participate
today (Tuesday) in the fourth stage of the 2009 Female World Championship; Monday round was suspended due to bad weather at the Peniche beaches in Portugal.
Both Rip Curl's Women's as well as Rip Curl Pro had to be postponed due to bad weather, which made the surfers to have a day off.
The tournament will restart on Tuesday morning and Mulanovich will try to advance in the competition to shorten distances with Australian Stephanie Gilmore, leader of the world classification.
Sofia trained intensively in Piura at Lobitos beaches, next month's venue for the fifth stage of the world championship.
Mulanovich was the first Peruvian and South American to be crowned world champion, after winning the tournament organized by the Association of Professional Surfers.
This title is won by the person who gains the most points during the official events all year round.
