Peru's President denies rumours about having a new baby

Peru's President, Alan García, denied the rumor that he would be about to become a father again.

The rumor, launched yesterday by a local journalist's personal blog, stated that the mother of Alan Garcia's 6th child, Roxanne Cheesman, would be at present almost three months pregnant.

“That is nothing but a lie and a rumor spread by a blog,” he said, adding that “this is completely false and I am surprised by the fact media has spread it so quickly. It is not serious to run a story that has not been verified. This is not the way to handle an issue which, moreover, is absolutely false," President Garcia said.

He also made clear that, being 60 years old, he is not planning to have any other child.

I can say good things about your president and prefer to be more real.Like my president Obama, who I voted for,President Garcia lacks the sellable charactor, that any large or small country looks for. He will waste time on small issues and not accomplish anything from it.When Obama had the issue the other month when police harrassed a professor in Boston for being too aggressive when questioned,as he was innocent of any crime,Obama made a teaching point out of it for my nation The United States of America.
So what if a man is 60 years old,as I am 60 and my Peruvian wife wants to have another baby.Too much time focused on who he is and not in doing more for your country is a waste of his time.
Presidents need to serve to country and not gain personally from it,if your country wishes to advance at a more rapid rate.
Why is it that your president and congressmen dont allow or advocate email contact whereas we can send opinions and constructive advice for Peru.Everyone tells me Peru is closed minded to the general publics opinions as a whole.
I am an American, who when I retire to live in Peru soon, would cherish an opportunity to be a real representative for the peoples interests.Too many of your canadates havent convinced their country of geniune change and its not anyones fault but your congress and president. My country and others wish to invest in Peru and I only hope you maintain good presidents and clean house of all corruption, using proven methods, used in the US.All spending at all levels of government need independent reports, made avaliable to the public in your major news reporting.Accountabllity works very well in the US and Peru needs to learn and practice this some day for its advancement.

John B - boy oh boy, you are in for a shock should you really retire in Peru. Peru is not the USA and probably never will be. At least not in your lifetime.
So your Peruvian wife wants to have "another" baby. I assume this means she is considerably younger than you. At your age, perhaps, it simply 'child support' - be it you or Dr. Alan Gracia.
LOL[uck]

Like the USA, Peru has child support laws for single women, however, the divorce rate is about 15% versus 55% in the USA.  Latin woman are awesome, yet the man - President or Average Joe - is expected to pay monthly for 18 years.

Chris - the divorse rate in Peru is low as an official statistic because  many couples in Peru simply separate or they were never officially married in the first place. In many instances, comparing official statistical numbers  between countries like Peru and like the US or Europe are rather meaningless.

Peruvian divorce rate is only 15%?
My be only 15% some time ago but there are way too many single mom in Peru and most of latin countries.
Every time I ask dating nice looking ladies in South America, seems to be all has kid or two.
Cuba is also similar.
I now know why there are so many single moms in poor countries.
But I don't say why unless some one asks me.
