Good news for all Peruvian expats: Congress unanimously approved Peru's signing of The Hague Apostille Convention, which will significantly reduce the time, the money spent, and the paperwork needed to legalize documents at Peru's Foreign Relations Ministry's offices. # Tio Gringo says :

This is excellent news for families like mine. I'm an Australian, married to a beautiful Peruvian and we have 3 children who are half / half. We live in Australia and travel to Peru often, we also have interests in property there. The paperwork is always difficult but now it should become much easier and faster. My congratulations to the Peruvian Government for taking this important step.

Can someone elaborate on this piece? Having Congress approve the signature, does not imply that it will happen immediately. Ot has to be signed and deposited, and there is often some waiting time after the instrument of ratification enters into force.... Good news, but when?

I for one am happy to see this happen. It will make the process easier. I would like to see some elaboration in a follow up story as to when this will be in effect.Add your comment
