Peru to create antidumping measures against Vietnamese and Chinese shoes

Peru's National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Intellectual Property Rights (INDECOPI) announced it will impose anti-dumping duties on shoes imported from Vietnam.

This decision would be adopted after the requests from five shoe manufacturers based in Lima, the Leather Shoe Industry and Related Components Corporation (CCCA).

The decision will be announced officially in the next days, and other certain kinds of shoes imported from China and Vietnam will be also taken into consideration.

Reportedly, CCCA lodged a lawsuit in 2006 against fabric shoes imported from China and Vietnam but Indecopi said that there was no foundation for the accusation.

Sad days --Whether against this dumping, or the predictable impact of the FTA with China...Peru will ultimately lose its own shoe manufacturing industry as China floods the market with footware and clothing etc etc. You may thank your politicians for this....plus the plundering of your natural resources by China....same as is happening in Africa, by China.
