Chilean Foreign Minister Mariano Fernandez declined to comment on the arrest of Peru's Air Force NCO Victor Ariza Mendoza,
on charges of espionage for Chile.
"We don't have official information and we are not making comments,” Fernandez told the press in Singapore, as several Chilean medias report today.
Fernandez, who is accompanying President Michelle Bachelet on her tour through Asia, is currently in Singapore, attending the Asia Pacific Forum (APEC).
According to Peruvian press, Ariza Mendoza, who served in the Peruvian Embassy in Santiago, would have provided Peruvian Military information to Chile's Armed Forces, receiving a monthly free that ranged between US $ 5,000 and US $8,000.
